We’re already counting down the days until the start of the 25/26 Championship season and there are plenty of young talents to keep an eye out.
There are several Championship stars to watch out for next season, but what about the next generation?
Clubs are giving players more and more game time from an earlier age, with some even going on to become integral parts of the first team.
Last season, Leeds United handed Archie Gray’s brother his senior debut at the age of 16 and will be hoping to follow in his footsteps.
But which young stars should you be looking at going into the new footballing season. EFL Analysis has named five that you should be watching.
Jeremy Monga – Leicester City
Jeremy Monga is the first name on the list and also the youngest of the five we’ve selected.
The Leicester City winger is 15 years old and the second-youngest debutant in Premier League history and has been linked with several European giants, before Monga signed a new contract.
Monga even turned down Paris Saint-Germain to stay at Leicester after plenty of interest and will officially sign a professional contract when he turns 17 in 2026.
He’ll have finished his GCSE’s by the time August comes around, but the Championship will be his next big test.
Ryan One – Sheffield United
Sheffield United’s woeful play-off record continued after they lost in the final against Sunderland but that hasn’t stopped anyone from predicting Chris Wilder’s side to be in the hunt for promotion next season.
Ryan One was given his first taste of senior football with the Blades, making 15 appearances for the club and is likely to play more of a role this year.
With a tall, imposing frame for an 18-year-old, he has had a perfect year of mentoring under Kieffer Moore and will look to become the talisman next year.
Souleymane Sidibe – Stoke City
Souleymane Sidibe has potential to be a real mainstay in the Stoke City side going forward.
Mark Robins’ side limped over the line in the end and will be hoping that a full season under his belt will see the Potters head in the right direction.
Sidibe has been watched by a number of Premier League clubs, including Manchester United in the past.
The midfielder knows he could easily become a regular at Stoke, as opposed to continuing his development at youth level with Man United, making him a better player in the long run.
Oscar Schwartau – Norwich City

Norwich City have appointed Liam Manning and are heading into a new era once again.
Josh Sargent is expected to leave Carrow Road, as is Borja Sainz and a raft of changes will be made to the first team squad to push for promotion.
Oscar Schwartau was a regular for the side but only scored one goal for the Canaries. With a new person needing to step up should the two big names leave, Schwartau could be the one to prove his worth.
Gabriel Otegbayo – Sheffield Wednesday
Sheffield Wednesday are a mess off the pitch, but Gabriel Otegbayo could provide a crumb of comfort.
Given that Wednesday are under a transfer embargo and are unable to negotiate deals for new players, Otegbayo will be given more chances.

Danny Rohl looks destined to leave Wednesday and the Owls will find it difficult to bring in a replacement, but at least the 20-year-old will give supporters some reason to head to Hillsborough.
