Four Championship clubs that will do absolutely nothing on transfer deadline day

Add as preferred source on Google

Well then, we’re finally here. It’s transfer deadline day.

All 24 Championship teams will have one last day to get their business done before their squads are locked in until January.

Clubs like Middlesbrough and Birmingham City have been busy in the market whereas others have barely added to their squads.

Plenty of teams will still be in the market to land that all-important signing, but others will more than likely sit back and know that they are done for the window.

So, without further ado, here are four clubs that EFL Analysis is predicting to have a quiet transfer deadline day.

Sheffield Wednesday

This one speaks for itself really, doesn’t it?

Sheffield Wednesday are under an EFL-imposed transfer restriction that only allows them to sign free agents or players without a fee.

It limits the Owls’ options in the market and although Henrik Pedersen would love to strengthen his side, the reality is that they are going to have their hands tied.

Expect a quiet one at Hillsborough, but not by choice.

Norwich City

I think Liam Manning will be glad to see the back of the transfer window.

Norwich City have been really busy and made some important signings, including the addition of Mathias Kvistgaarden and free agent Harry Darling.

Manning has had to also deal with losing two key stars as Borja Sainz departed for Porto and Marcelino Nunez made the shock move to Ipswich Town.

The only talking point is Josh Sargent’s future, but unless a huge offer comes in, the American is set to remain at Carrow Road.

Stoke City

Aside from their loss against West Bromwich Albion, what a start to the season it has been for Stoke City and Mark Robins.

Stoke’s success has been down to doing their business early as the Potters brought in Divin Mubama on loan from Manchester City and recently secured the addition of Tomas Rigo ahead of Championship rivals.

Robins won’t want to disrupt the start to the season too much with any further additions.

Bristol City

Gerhard Struber has had a mixed start at Bristol City, which began with the Robins hammering Sheffield United in their own backyard.

It’s been the likes of Scott Twine, who was already there, that have grabbed the headlines but the signings Struber has made have all contributed.

I can’t foresee them dipping into the market too much and the only potential move to watch out for is Zak Vyner to Wrexham after the Red Dragons had a £2m bid rejected.
