There are only a few days left of the transfer window, so we’ve taken a look at all the top deals still left to resolve for Championship clubs by the time deadline day rolls around on Monday.
Clubs in the Championship have been so busy this summer, with the likes of Wrexham, Birmingham City, and Norwich City all making a number of new signings.
We’ve also seen 11 new Derby County signings, and a whole host of outgoings at Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield Wednesday.
So, with deadline day fast approaching, you’d be best to keep an eye on the following eight transfer sagas to see how they play out in the final moments of the window.

Potential transfer sagas that could come to an end on deadline day
Josh Sargent
Over the summer, we’ve seen Burnley pay attention to Josh Sargent, as well as a potential return to Wolfsburg fall through for the Norwich striker.
Liam Manning definitely wants to keep Sargent, obviously, and his early season form shows exactly how valuable he is to the Canaries.
But, we understand Sargent still has a good chance of leaving. Norwich have signed attacking players, so they’re clearly prepared for that eventuality. They don’t need to sell, but a good offer could turn their head and Sargent’s in the final days of the window.
Hayden Hackney
The good news for Middlesbrough is that Finn Azaz’s switch to Southampton means Hayden Hackney is very unlikely to be sold as well. That doesn’t mean it’s impossible, though.
West Ham and Fulham watched Hackney recently, and we know that the player himself has told Boro that he wants to play in the Premier League.
Middlesbrough would find it very hard to turn down offers of £20m for their star man, but it would leave the fanbase very unhappy indeed.
Bilal El Khannouss
Bilal El Khannouss was linked to Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur until recently, with talk of a £25m deal being done.
However, Leicester City managed to sell the likes of Kasey McAteer and satisfy their PSR restrictions, meaning the price tag for El Khannouss bumped up to £35m.
Since then, Leicester’s near-refusal to sell has driven the player to insist he will rot in the reserves until a move goes through. Once that stance is made clear, it’s very hard to see a way back.

Jack Rudoni
Southampton made a serious approach for Jack Rudoni earlier in the window, but that failed to lead to a transfer.
We know Frank Lampard wants to keep Rudoni. We also know Rudoni is happy at Coventry City. But, that can change in the blink of an eye if a big offer comes in.
Mateus Fernandes
Tyler Dibling was the big story for Southampton this summer. He’s now joined Everton, but that doesn’t mean Mateus Fernandes’ own transfer saga is over.
West Ham previously bid £30m for Fernandes, and they’ve since come back in for him. It’s thought Fernandes is undergoing a medical at West Ham, with a deal all but done now.
Fernandes missed the midweek cup game for Southampton, which Still insisted was purely to rest him. However, it seems there may have been more to that now, and the Saints will be losing yet another key man this summer.
Jordan James
Wrexham have been very busy this summer as they look to adapt to their newfound surroundings in the second tier. It seems Phil Parkinson still wants more in the midfield area, though.
One target Wrexham have on their list is Jordan James, the former Birmingham City youngster who is now playing for Rennes.
More recently, Ipswich have lodged a bid for James. It sounds like both clubs will get a chance to speak to the midfielder, and he will make a decision from there, but it could go right down to the wire.
Tom Fellows
Tom Fellows almost moved to the Premier League back in January, but a move to Everton didn’t go through in the end.
While talk around Fellows has gone quiet of late, we are told West Brom are fearful Everton will be back with a late bid for the playmaker.
Obviously, Everton have signed a few players of late, which might mean Fellows is off their list. However, Southampton have since swooped in to sign Fellows, with a £10m deal thought to be close to completion.
Mihailo Ivanovic
While Millwall chase West Ham’s Andy Irving, they could yet lose two of their best players before deadline day. Japhet Tanganga looks set for Sheffield United, and there are still rumours that star striker Mihailo Ivanovic could be lured away.
Leicester City are keen on Ivanovic, who scored 12 goals last season. Wolves were also interested in the Serbian earlier this summer.
We know Millwall do not want to sell Ivanovic, but the same was said about Tanganga just a few weeks ago. Everyone has their price, and as clubs look for top strikers, Ivanovic could well become a top target for a number of teams.
