Hull City have not had a dream summer; in fact, it has been more of a nightmare thanks to financial errors made by Acun Ilicali, but there appears to be light at the end of the tunnel.
Hull are currently under a transfer embargo imposed by the EFL, which has restricted them from signing players involving a transfer fee.
However, the club can still make loan signings and acquire players for free, and this has seen them sign Akin Famewo on a free transfer from Sheffield Wednesday, while promising winger Joel Ndala joined on a season-long loan from Manchester City.

Ndala made his debut from the bench for the final 20 minutes as Hull produced a brilliant 2-1 victory over Sunderland in a pre-season friendly, and now the Tigers may be moving towards making further additions to the side by giving a ‘second chance’ to an outcast.
Hull City set to give a ‘second chance’ to Brandon Williams
Former Ipswich Town full-back Brandon Williams has been on trial at Hull City over the last week.
At Portman Road, he scored twice in 17 games, but various issues saw him unable to feature in the second half of the campaign, when the Blues secured promotion to the Premier League.
Williams is looking to put a tough 14 months behind him, beginning with coming off the bench against Sunderland in the friendly victory.
He pleaded guilty at Chester Crown Court to dangerous driving and driving without third-party insurance in March 2024, before, in May 2025, he was sentenced to a 14-month jail term, suspended for two years.

While this will have been a tough period for Williams, he will be determined to get his career back on track.
It would be a good move for Hull due to the current situation they find themselves in with the transfer embargo, as the 24-year-old has experience in both the Championship and Premier League.
So, signing Williams would be an obvious plus due to the quality and experience they will be getting for free in this difficult period for the club.

Sergej Jakirovic on Brandon Williams since joining Hull City
Williams has been on trial at Hull City since July 22, and manager Jakirovic has made his thoughts clear on the full-back.
Speaking about Williams at the friendly with Sunderland, he said: “We won’t hurry with him because it’s a difficult period behind him.
“I like to help people because everybody deserves a second chance, so Brandon will be with us, and we will try to help him; he will try to help us.
“Then, all together at the club, we will make a decision about him.”
