Salford City are looking to build as a club and follow the example Wrexham have set in their promotion through the English pyramid, with the Welsh club set to feature in their first Championship campaign for over 40 years.
David Beckham and Gary Neville have recently bought out the other members of the class of ’92 to streamline the ownership of Salford City to achieve their ambitions of moving the club up through the divisions.
Salford City also recently appointed Gavin Fleig as their new Chief Executive Officer, luring him away from the City Football Group.

Now the club have got this in place, they appear to be making moves in the transfer market, with their latest acquisition leaving Team Hollywood, Wrexham, for the glitz and glamour of the team located just across the River Irwell from Manchester and swapping the Ryan Reynolds-owned club for the one under the joint possession of David Beckham.
Mark Howard joins Salford City from Wrexham
Mark Howard’s contract at Wrexham expired this summer after the Welsh club achieved history with their consecutive promotions.
After weeks of searching for a new club, he has now been unveiled as the latest signing at Salford City.

Howard, who featured in all three promotions experienced by Wrexham, will hope he can help Salford as they look to extract all his knowledge to help them escape League Two, a division they have been stuck in since 2019.
The role the 38-year-old will play at the club is unknown exactly at this point; whether he will challenge for a starting jersey, or if his experience and what he would bring off the pitch will be the decisive factor.
Mark Howard on his move to Salford City
The goalkeeper has already made his thoughts and feelings known about his move to Salford to join the club owned partly by David Beckham and Gary Neville.
Speaking with the club press team, he has made his ambitions of achieving promotion extremely clear and to be part of the journey through the leagues, in a similar fashion to his time at Wrexham.
He said: “This move is the perfect fit for me right now; it is exciting. Obviously, I have been at a club that has done amazing things these last few years, and to come on board at Salford with what they are trying to achieve, trying to get out of this league, I think it suits both parties really well.
“What the club are trying to do off the pitch and on the pitch is similar to the model that Wrexham have, and there are some comparisons there, so I am excited to come and try to help the club push on now as much as possible.”
