How Mark Robins really feels about Nathan Lowe as Stoke City starlet attracts ‘significant interest’

With the summer transfer window now in full swing, it seems Stoke City and Nathan Lowe have a decision to make, but we can exclusively reveal how Mark Robins feels about the situation.

Nathan Lowe was one of the stars of last season and proved to be up there with the very best loan signings in the EFL for 2024/25.

His 19-goal haul for Walsall very nearly secured the Saddlers promotion from League Two, but he was recalled by Stoke in January which coincided with a drastic demise for Walsall.

Now, plenty of clubs will be lining up to sign Lowe for 2025/26. With talk of a loan move already, EFL Analysis can shed some light on what the future holds for the young striker.

Nathan Lowe is unlikely to leave Stoke City this summer

Speaking to our Chief Football Correspondent Graeme Bailey, we are exclusively told that Lowe is very likely to be “staying put” at Stoke for the coming season.

We understand there are “no plans” for Lowe to be moved on, be it permanently or temporarily, despite rumours of approaches from Huddersfield Town for the striker.

The key is that Mark Robins appreciates Lowe’s talents and is now likely to give him a chance in the Stoke first-team next season.

While there is thought to be “significant interest” in the teenager, as it stands, he will be sticking with the Potters for 2025/26.

Can Nathan Lowe force his way into the Stoke City starting XI?

In League Two, Nathan Lowe was unstoppable. If he were to return to that level, or even League One, you’d imagine he would have a field day next season.

However, staying at Stoke will present a big challenge for the youngster, but one we’re sure he will relish. He did get ten appearances in the Championship last season, albeit at an average of just over 46 minutes per game. Lowe scored just once for Stoke during that time.

However, the expected departure of Emre Tezgel opens a door for Lowe, and he will be hungry to prove that he is the prime young talent at Stoke now.

We loved watching Lowe do his thing in the fourth tier last term, and he’s a player we are expecting big things from in 2025/26. Hopefully, Robins does give him ample opportunity to show what he can do.
