While departures are expected at Hull City on deadline day, there has been an issue arise that may affect the state of play at the MKM Stadium.

Hull City have been plagued with concerns this summer that have prohibited their ability to sign players for transfer fees, with the EFL imposing restrictions on the Tigers.

Acun Ilicali and Head of Recruitment Jared Dublin have still managed to supply Sergej Jakirovic with sufficient signings, including the statement arrival of Oli McBurnie.

Hull City are also set to sign Darko Gyabi on a permanent transfer from Premier League side Leeds United, with Ilicali being keen to bolster the team’s midfield options.

Amid the arrivals expected, departures are also likely from the MKM Stadium today, but one major issue has sprung up that could cause issues.

State of play on Hull City departures including Abu Kamara and Charlie Hughes

Hull City looked set to offload Abu Kamara in the summer transfer window, but, via an update by Baz Cooper on X, there have been ‘potential issues’ that could affect his departure.

Despite the deal to join Getafe being signed on Friday night, there is still a wait in the ‘registration being granted by the Spanish FA’. There is reportedly movement on Getafe’s side to rectify the issues.

As for Coventry City-linked Hull City defender Charlie Hughes, Cooper has also said that ‘as it stands now, (the) deal is dead in the water. Nothing doing.’

Coventry City have shown vast interest in Hughes, lodging three previous bids, but after a £10m offer was knocked back to attain his services, Frank Lampard’s side appear to have moved on to alternative targets.

Abu Kamara issues could affect incoming Hull City signing

Because of the issues regarding Abu Kamara’s move away from Hull City, which is currently stalling, it looks set to have a ‘direct impact on Amir Hadziahmetovic’s move to Hull City’, according to Baz Cooper.

Hull City will be keen that such issues are rectified as soon as possible so that there can be clarity on who the Tigers know they will be able to bring in.

Fortunately, the deal to sign Darko Gyabi from Leeds United does not appear to be affected by the ongoing events.

As both clubs continue to battle to get the issues resolved, it will not be surprising if Hull City are working all the way until the deadline this evening to find clarity on what will happen.
