Ipswich Town are now set to face competition from a fellow Championship promotion hopeful in the pursuit of Bournemouth midfielder Philip Billing.
There are less than two weeks left of the summer transfer window, and several Championship clubs are scrambling to get their deals done.
Ipswich Town are keen to get more business done as they hope to mount a serious promotion bid following their relegation from the Premier League last season.
It has been revealed that Ipswich and Coventry are both keen on William Boving, and they also may be signing Sandre Walle Egeli from FC Nordsjaelland in a deal worth around £17.2m.
In addition, Ipswich Town are keen to sign Philip Billing from Bournemouth, but it now appears that they face competition for the midfielder from a fellow Championship club who are keen to urgently bring extra bodies through the door.

Ipswich Town set to face Sheffield United competition for Philip Billing
It has been revealed, via a report by Gianluca Di Marzio, that Ipswich Town will face competition from Sheffield United as the Championship pair monitor the situation of Philip Billing.
The Bournemouth midfielder could leave for up to €10m (£8.65m), as suggested by Di Marzio, but no official offers have been made yet.
Both Ipswich Town and Sheffield United will battle it out for the Danish international, with FC Copenhagen also showing interest in the Premier League star and former Napoli loanee.
Andoni Iraola discussed Billing’s future, where he said: “But sometimes it is not us pushing for a move. Sometimes it is the players who are not happy with their roles and they are the ones who want to try something else.
“It is a question for him and more a decision from him and the club.”

Philip Billing’s incredible Championship record
Billing has a respectable record in the Championship, having recorded 36 goal contributions in 112 appearances in the second tier. His most recent season in the Championship saw him manage 10 goals and 10 assists in 40 games of the 2021/22 campaign.
During his time at both Bournemouth and Huddersfield Town, he has shown that his capabilities put him head and shoulders above the rest in the division, and whilst it would take a sizeable fee to bring him in, it could pay off spectacularly.
Both Sheffield United and Ipswich Town would be keen to add a midfielder who boasts such a goalscoring streak in the Championship as Billing does, and he could transform both sides.
