It’s going to be a very interesting season for Norwich City, with plenty of changes happening across the board at Carrow Road.
Borja Sainz has left for Porto, but Pape Diallo will help fill the void left by the Spaniard. Meanwhile, Josh Sargent remains a Canaries player after his move to Wolfsburg broke down and question marks remain over his future.
Nevertheless, the Norfolk outfit are continuing with their business and work is being done to strengthen the side ahead of their first Championship fixture next weekend.
A deal for Pelle Mattsson has stalled, but Norwich are closing in on their next signing, but it could have been so different had he chosen a different path last summer.

Soon-to-be Norwich City man Mirko Topic could have joined a La Liga side last summer
The Canaries are closing in on a €3.5m (£3m) move for Mirko Topic, with the midfielder set to leave Famalicao, a Portuguese side, as per Connor Southwell.

The Serbian made 33 appearances in Liga Portugal last season, scoring once from defensive midfield, but he will now play his football in the Championship.
However, it could have all been so different for the 24-year-old as in the summer of 2024, clubs in Spain were ‘monitoring’ him. According to Erkem Konur, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla were both interested in his services.
However, despite teams willing to make a €5m (£4.3m) bid for the midfielder, he remained with Famalicao, allowing Norwich to make a move for him ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
The Canaries have had an excellent summer
Although Sainz has left, there is no debating that the Canaries are coming out of this summer looking much stronger than they entered it.
Liam Manning was given a handsome transfer kitty for this window, and he has spent it well, bringing in Mathias Kvistgaarden to add more depth to the striker department.

Topic has the potential to be a real fans’ favourite at Carrow Road, and at 24, he will only improve as the years go by. Norwich will be looking to end their Premier League hiatus this season and the Serbia international will be vital in that.
