The Middlesbrough faithful are elated with the loan capture of the highly-rated Man City midfielder.
Middlesbrough signed Sontje Hansen last week in a £3.8m deal for the former NEC star, and Boro’s transfer window business is far from finished.
Middlesbrough remain “confident” on Max Arfsten after seeing a £2.25m bid rejected from Columbus Crew for the USMNT wing-back.
Following Middlesbrough’s 3-0 victory at Millwall, Boro confirmed their latest signing with the loan capture of Manchester City starlet Sverre Nypan.
Nypan becomes their fifth signing of the summer, with more expected at the Riverside before deadline day, and the Middlesbrough faithful have taken to social media to share their elation at Nypan’s arrival.

Boro fans react as Middlesbrough sign Sverre Nypan on loan from Manchester City
Last week, EFL Analysis exclusively revealed that Middlesbrough were closing in on signing Nypan on loan from Man City, given the “very strong ties that have been established in recent years” between the two clubs.
After Nypan attended Middlesbrough’s training session, which was open for fans to observe at the Riverside, eagle-eyed supporters were clamouring for Boro to announce his signing.
24 hours later, the Middlesbrough faithful got their wish granted after Boro announced the loan capture of Nypan, which was met with joyous response from the supporters.
One Boro fan said: “This guy is some player from what I have seen of him. He is going to terrorise Championship defences with that dribbling.”
Another added: “If the clips of him I’ve watched are anything to go by, what a signing this could be!”
A third Boro fan posted: “Good signing for the season, welcome to the Boro Sverre”, as another added: “Welcome to the Boro Sverre! Great signing!”
One Boro fan exclaimed: “This is an incredible bit of business!!!”
A sixth fan noted: “Very excited about this one”.

Sverre Nypan’s career statistics ahead of Middlesbrough loan move
Highly-rated central midfielder Nypan arrives at Boro after being signed by Man City just last month for a fee in the region of £12m from Norwegian giants Rosenborg.
Since graduating from their academy in 2022, Nypan made 67 appearances for the Rosenborg first team, scoring 14 goals and notching eight assists in the process.
| Statistic | Sverre Nypan for Rosenborg |
| Games played | 67 |
| Goals | 14 |
| Assists | 8 |
Nypan also has 13 international caps for the Norway youth sides and is tipped to become a full international in the coming years.
After Hayden Hackney turned down a move to Ipswich Town, the Boro midfielder’s future hangs in the balance, and Nypan’s arrival would help soften the blow if fellow central midfielder Hackney does depart before deadline day.
