Norwich City earmark two new signings as clear favourite emerges between Pelle Mattsson and Mirko Topic

We’ve already seen Norwich City complete some big moves in the transfer market this summer, but two more signings could be on the way.

The likes of Harry Darling and Jakov Medic have provided Norwich City with real strength at the back this summer, while the £6.9m capture of Mathias Kvistgaarden has been praised for adding quality up top.

Norwich have lost Borja Sainz, though, and appear set to lose Josh Sargent, too, after positive talks with Wolfsburg over the weekend.

Liam Manning is not about to finish his summer transfer business just yet, though, with a new central midfielder being lined up, and a winger, too.

Norwich City prefer Pelle Mattsson over Mirko Topic

First up, Norwich appear to have finally made a decision on which midfielder they prefer out of Pelle Mattsson and Mirko Topic.

We spoke to Danish football expert Toke Theilade about Mattsson, who hailed the Silkeborg man for his work ethic and ball-playing abilities in the middle of the park.

Silkeborg’s sporting director claimed progress was being made in the sale of Mattsson, with Norwich and Portsmouth both keen.

Now, the latest report from The Pink’Un suggests Norwich view the Danish midfielder as their top target in midfield, ahead of Serbian star Topic.

It is said the Canaries will move for Mattsson as a priority, but will fall back on Topic if a £2.6m approach for the former doesn’t come to fruition.

Either way, it seems Norwich will be getting a top player, with Serbian expert Kristijan Plazonja telling us Topic is well-equipped for the Championship.

Norwich City hope to get Pape Diallo move over the line

Meanwhile, Norwich may have found their Sainz replacement, with a move for Pape Diallo edging closer.

The same report adds that Norwich are now becoming more confident that they can land the Metz star, who was previously lined up for a switch to Watford.

It is said Diallo has made it clear he wants to join Norwich, and it is now a case of arranging the relevant work permits to make it happen.
