Sheffield United are set to be busy from now until the close of the summer transfer window in September, having left their business late.
The Blades have seemingly been forced into this by their poor start to the Championship campaign, having lost their opening two fixtures in the league, with their 4-1 loss to Bristol City being a shock result.
Following the difficult spell, Ruben Selles has hit out at Sheffield United’s recruitment, which has significantly hindered his selection.
Notably, Sheffield United’s defence looks to be a shell of its previous self, and this comes down to the untimely departure of Anel Ahmedhodzic, leaving centre-back options sparse for the Spaniard.
Now, the Blades have been given some encouragement regarding one of their targets.

Seol Young-woo opens up on his future
Seol Young-woo, the South Korean right-back, has made his transfer priority clear amid ongoing speculation linking him with a move to Sheffield United this summer, as reported by the Star.
The South Korean currently plays in the Serbian top flight with Red Star Belgrade; however, he has addressed his future plans in a post-match interview after they lost to Cypriot side Paphos in a Champions League qualifier.
He said: “Of course, if the right opportunity presents itself, I’m always willing to take on the challenge. However, nothing has been decided yet.
“At first, I felt lonely [when he left].

“But he played for one season and transferred to a good team, and that actually motivated me. It made me think: ‘If I do well, I can go to a bigger team.’
“I want a league where I can play with a sense of intensity throughout the season. It’s difficult for our team to advance past the league stage in the Champions League, so we focus on the league in the second half of the season. We win a lot, but our motivation tends to dwindle.
“Whether it’s the English Premier League, the German Bundesliga, or the English Championship, I hope to create an environment where we can grow with tension until the final round.”
Sheffield United’s defender recruitment
The Blades have made approaches for several defenders in the past week as they look to solve their crisis at the back.
It has been revealed, via Sky Sports reporter Luca Bendoni, that ‘Sheffield United plan to progress soon in talks with Millwall over Japhet Tanganga’, and this is in addition to agreeing a deal to sign Ben Godfrey on loan from Serie A side Atalanta.
Bendoni suggests that a fee ‘north of £5m’ is being discussed with the Lions for Tanganga, but alternative reports from Rob Dorsett suggest that it is closer to £2.5m.
Godfrey and Tanganga would add vast experience to the Blades’ backline, with the pair accumulating a total of 142 Premier League appearances between them.
