Sheffield Wednesday are yet to bring in a new face this summer amid major financial problems.
John Textor looks the likeliest party to rescue the Owls, as the club remain under a three-window transfer fee ban for failing to pay players on time on several occasions this year.
However, on the pitch, there has been some positivity. Supporters were βproudβ of the players after their first game of the campaign, despite a 2-1 defeat away to Leicester City.
Meanwhile, Ike Ugbo finally scored for Sheffield Wednesday against Bolton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup first round on Wednesday evening, and now the club are closing in on their first signing of the summer.

Sheffield Wednesday close in on the re-signing of Stuart Armstrong
Stuart Armstrong joined the Owls in the January transfer window leaving the MLS and Vancouver Whitecaps for a return to England.

However, he made just 11 appearances in South Yorkshire. Despite this, Sheffield Wednesday are keen on signing the midfielder once again, and with the club off the EFL embargo list, they can now bring in free agents and loanees.
According to Alan Nixon, the 33-year-old is set to become the first new arrival at Hillsborough this summer. He said: β Sheffield Wednesday are closing in on a return for Scottish midfielder Stuart Armstrong.
βThe Owls are now offering deals to free agents within the EFL wage restrictions β and Armstrong is one of those. Armstrong was at Wednesday last season for the second half of the campaign. He is open to a return to Hillsborough.β

Stuart Armstrong has unfinished business with the Owls
Nathaniel Chalobah pulled up injured against Leicester on Sunday, leaving Sheffield Wednesday even lighter in midfield, and they need an experienced player to come in and take his place.
Armstrong can do exactly that, and he will feel that he has a point to prove with the Owls after he missed five games through injury in February and March.

At 33, there is no denying that the Scottish midfielder is towards the end of his playing days. However, he has been around for long enough to know how to cope with the pressures that Sheffield Wednesday are facing right now.
Henrik Pedersen needs as many new faces through the door as possible, and Armstrong may just be the start of a busy couple of weeks at Hillsborough.
