Preston North End have agreed a deal to sign Sheffield Wednesday right-back Pol Valentin on a three-year deal.
The 28-year-old will sign for the club on July 1 upon the expiration of his current contract with the Owls.
Valentin made 70 Championship appearances for the Hillsborough club during his two years at the side after joining from Sporting Gijon, extending his stay in England to five years total if he sees out his contract at the Lancashire club.
Sheffield Wednesday fans have been posting on social media under Preston North End’s announcement what the Lancashire club can expect from their new signing.

Sheffield Wednesday fans react as Pol Valentin signs for Preston North End.
Pol Valentin is the latest signing for Preston North End after the club announced the signing of Daniel Iversen last week and Jordan Thompson from Stoke City.
Fans from Wednesday are all bidding the 28-year-old full-back well in his next move and have offered Preston an insight into what to expect from Valentin.
One fan wrote on social media: “Good luck, Pol. Hard worker and potential to be a solid Championship player!”
Another Wednesday fan is happy he has found another club; they said: “Never got a consistent run at SWFC. There’s a decent player in there… I reckon he will kick on, personally. I’d have kept him.”
One fan sees him as a better signing than Real Madrid’s latest acquisition, as they (perhaps jokingly) said: “Better than Trent; Madrid missed out.”
While one fan took a swipe at Sheffield Wednesday and the failure to pay players on time at Hillsborough, as one fan posted: “Bet he’s excited to get paid. Best of luck, Pol.”
But the overwhelming sentiment was just to wish him well in the newest chapter of his footballing career, as many simply posted: “Good luck, Pol.”
Pol Valentin excited about the challenge at Preston North End
The Spanish full-back has already conducted his first interview with the club following the confirmation of his signature.
While Preston fans will have to wait a while to see what he can bring their side on the pitch, they can take consolation in Valentin speaking about his excitement to get going and what he can bring to the Lancashire club.
Speaking to the club website, he said: “I had no doubts about coming here, and for this I am here now.

“I have a lot of pace; maybe sometimes I need to have more control, but yeah, I’m going to try and show every week at the stadium, and I will try and give my best to this club.”
Valentin was a dependable option during his time at Sheffield Wednesday, as someone who was always fit and available for selection, as he featured in 70 Championship matches across two seasons at the club.
He brought a lot of pace and energy to the Owls, which was pivotal in their manager and Werder Bremen target Danny Rohl’s approach to the game.
The 28-year-old full-back could be even more useful on Preston’s preseason tour, as the club is expected to travel to Spain in preparation for the new season, with Valentin able to ingratiate himself with his new teammates by helping them with the language in the European country.
