Mark Robins will have been looking forward to the summer transfer window, as he prepares for his first full season in charge of Stoke City.

It was a nervous end to the 2024/25 campaign for the Potters, as a 0-0 draw against Derby County on the final day of the season secured their Championship status.

However, they must now progress and they can ill-afford to be left behind by their rivals in the transfer window as they attempt to move away from the bottom-half of the Championship table and on to bigger and brighter things.

David Prutton predicted Stoke to get relegated last season, and now Robins will want to prove the Sky Sports pundit wrong with new faces at the bet365 Stadium and EFL Analysis has taken a look at every incoming and outgoing in Staffordshire as well as any transfer rumours.

Stoke City’s new summer signings

Sorba Thomas became the Potters’ first signing of the 2025/26 campaign as he left League One side Huddersfield Town.

Thomas spent last season on loan in France with Nantes, but the Ligue Un side never took up the option to buy the winger permanently and he has returned to England.

Huddersfield will be pushing for League One promotion next season, but it was clear to see that the Wales international was keen for a new challenge, and he has signed a three-year deal.

The Potters’ outgoings this summer

Perhaps the biggest story from Stoke’s retained list in May was the announcement of Jordan Thompson’s departure. He has made the switch to Preston North End, a club that has been busy in the market already as Paul Heckingbottom looks to avoid a relegation scrap once again.

Meanwhile, centre-back Michael Rose left the club at the end of his contract while 34-year-old Enda Stevens parted ways.

Lynden Gooch has also departed, and now Robins has tough decisions to make as to who else leaves the bet365 Stadium this summer.

Stoke City summer transfer rumours

Harry Darling is one player that Stoke are interested in bringing to Staffordshire this summer. The centre-back’s contract at Swansea City is set to expire, and multiple clubs are chasing his signature.

However, Norwich City are also interested in the defender, and Liam Manning is open to reuniting with Darling after previously managing him while at MK Dons.

Therefore, it may be tough for Stoke to convince the 25-year-old to join the club but there will be plenty of more faces linked with moves to the club in the coming months.
