Swansea City are still looking to strengthen their squad before the transfer window shuts in a couple of weeks to give Alan Sheehan all the resources for the best possible season ahead.
The Swans missed out on the signing of Richard Kone, with the striker opting to join Championship rivals QPR instead.
Swansea City’s loss to Middlesbrough in the opening game of the season may have given Sheehan the evidence to the board that they need investment up top.
Luka Modric is now on the board in South Wales and will surely understand the need to strengthen, while Snoop Dogg has also invested in the Swans during a summer of change.
While Swansea will be frustrated to have lost out on the services of Kone, they have already set their sights on a player who could fill the position from the Bundesliga 2.
Swansea have made a bid for Schalke striker Moussa Sylla
It has been reported by L’Equipe that Swansea City have put a €5.5 million bid in for Moussa Sylla, who is currently playing his football with Schalke.
The 25-year-old striker is currently under contract until 2028, and following his season with the German club last season, he will not be a cheap acquisition.
Sylla scored 16 goals in 28 matches, with this bringing interest from across Europe in his services.

Swansea are the only club reported to have put in a bid for the striker, but there is interest from Valencia and Angers.
The interest from the La Liga and Ligue 1 sides could worry Swansea after their experience in the Kone deal, as they had to attempt to convince the striker to choose their club over rivals.
Sylla had previously been offered to European giants last season
The 25-year-old striker has seemingly been looking for an exit from Schalke for a sustained period of time now, looking for a way to play in the top divisions of European football.
According to Steve Kay for Football Transfers, Sylla’s super-agent Rafaela Pimenta had approached several top clubs to gauge their interest in the striker.
The clubs included Liverpool, Manchester United, Barcelona and Inter Milan, as Sylla looked to capitalise on his fine season at Schalke last year.
Since joining the Gelsenkirchen outfit – one-time Champions League semi-finalists who are now 11th in the German second tier – the 25-year-old has, in the journalist’s words on X, ‘hit like a bomb’ with a tally of 13 goals in 19 games in 2. Bundesliga.
