Wrexham have had a quiet summer so far and they’ve got plenty of work to do to ensure that they can avoid relegation back to League One.
The Red Dragons are closing in on Josh Windass, but they need plenty more quality in their side after winning three successive promotions from the National League all the way to the second tier.
There are just over two weeks to go until the first Championship fixtures of 2025/26, and Phil Parkinson has been keen to find a new striker after Paul Mullin left for Wigan Athletic.
Now, he has his eyes firmly set on one experienced forward who has spent the last year playing his football for Sheffield United.

Wrexham express interest in Sheffield United’s Kieffer Moore
Finding players who have spent plenty of time playing in the Championship is crucial for Wrexham as they return to the second tier for the first time since 1982 and Kieffer Moore has more than enough experience.

According to a report from The Star, the Red Dragons are showing an interest in the 49-time capped Wales international this summer.
He helped Sheffield United reach the Championship play-off final in May, but Tommy Watson’s 95th minute winner for Sunderland denied the Blades a place back in the Premier League with the teenager’s goal coming through a Moore mistake.
Nevertheless, with 59 goals in the second tier over the course of his career, he could be a very shrewd signing by Parkinson.

Kieffer Moore will need a better return than last season
Although he knows the division inside out, Moore will be 33 by the time the season gets underway and he will need to prove why he can be a starting striker at the Racecourse Ground.
He scored just five goals in the Championship in 2024/25, a return that will not keep Wrexham in the division if a move comes off.
| Appearances (starts) | 27 (18) |

| Shots (on target) | 58 (19) |

A lot of the Truro-born ace’s work does come off the ball, but he will need to be much more clinical if he wants to become the Red Dragons’ starting striker, with Sam Smith surely the first-choice at the moment.
Yet, Moore has proven on countless occasions that he should not be written off and he could be a superb signing for Wrexham if they do pull it off.
