Cardiff City caretaker boss Aaron Ramsey has spoken about his playing career during the Bluebirds’ ongoing relegation scrap.
Cardiff City will host an out-of-form West Brom side this weekend as they look to pull themselves out of the pit of relegation.
For Cardiff City caretaker boss Aaron Ramsey, a win against the Baggies will be crucial to keep their survival hopes alive, due to there being a three point difference between themselves and Derby County, who also have a much more healthy goal difference.
Ahead of Cardiff’s massive clash with West Brom, who have been left wounded recently after losing 3-1 to Derby County, Bluebirds boss Ramsey has spoken about the ongoing relegation scrap, but also touched on his playing career, which he insists is far from over.

Aaron Ramsey previews the remaining Cardiff City fixtures and what is next
Caretaker boss Ramsey certainly has a difficult task on his hands, with the need to steer Cardiff City away from relegation, despite having to overturn a three-point deficit.
Results elsewhere could potentially take it out of Cardiff’s hands, as the Hull City vs Derby County clash could see the Rams pick up points, which would automatically relegate the Welsh outfit.
Nonetheless, Ramsey is still fully committed to the job ahead, as, per BBC Sport, he said: “My way of looking at it is these two games and trying to keep this club in the Championship.”
“It means a lot to me, and to be given this opportunity to try and do so, I couldn’t turn that down.”
When questioned if he had unfinished business as a player, Ramsey said: “Yeah, of course there’s a lot to play for and that World Cup [in 2026] is a massive carrot being dangled, so that’s what I’ll be focusing on in a few weeks.
“My full focus is on keeping Cardiff in the Championship, and then it will be back to rehab with the hamstring.”

Cardiff are up against the cosh, but they made one correct decision that could work out
The odds are certainly stacked out of Cardiff’s favour ahead of the final stage of the Championship campaign, with relegation looking fairly likely at this point.
There is no doubt that much of this comes down to the mismanagement of Omer Riza, who clearly looked out of his depth in the latter part of his tenure in the Welsh capital.
Fortunately, Cardiff certainly made the correct call to bring in Ramsey with a final roll of the dice, someone who cares for the club and will stand the best chance of getting 100% out of each individual.
Survival looks unlikely under any coach for Cardiff at this stage, but if anyone can galvanise the troops for one final push, it is Ramsey.
