Birmingham City supporters are in defence mode after seeing one of their players and the club slammed.
It has been a very mixed seven days for Birmingham City on and off the field.
Without even kicking a ball, the Blues were crowned League One champions after second-place Wrexham dropped two points versus Wigan Athletic on Saturday afternoon.
24 hours later, the Midlands outfit were in EFL Trophy action against Peterborough United, losing the final 2-0.
Aston Villa fans mocked Birmingham as their former player, Jed Steer, starred in goal for the Posh during the showpiece.
Supporters think Chris Davies made a fatal error during the loss to Peterborough but have since been quick to defend their club after some harsh comments from rivals.

Birmingham City fans leap to defence of Jay Stansfield
Birmingham were the obvious favourites in the clash with Peterborough, and after failing to score a single goal, rivals have taken to social media to hit out at Tom Brady’s side and, in particular, the deal for Jay Stanfield.
One fan wrote: “Not even trying to get bites but no way is Stansfield worth £20m?!?! The guy’s awful take away his pen goals and he’s nothing. That Birmingham atmosphere was awful considering they won the league yesterday and they had 50k fans.”
However, Birmingham fans have since leapt to Stansfield and the club’s defence, with one replying: “You’re basing this off one game? Good luck in League One next season. We have bigger fish to fry.”
A second added: “Stuck in league one for the foreseeable future, most of your better players will leave in the summer.”
Another claimed: “When Poku is supplying him next season, he should score a few.”
A fourth responded: “Hes nothing? Yeah ok champ. Sit down.”
“He is ‘worth’ what we paid, to us, as the fee was a fraction of the funds we have in the coffers. £20m is probably the net worth of your whole club?” A fifth added.
While a sixth simply wrote: “You’ll never play us again lad.”
Exciting Jay Stanfield prediction made
It’s easy to see why rival fans are quick to take aim at Birmingham and Stansfield, owing to the money involved.
However, the Blues probably won’t mind what others are saying, given they have wiped the floor with the rest of League One and will be back in the Championship later this year.
As for their record signing, Troy Deeney has predicted big things for Stansfield recently, tipping the forward to be good enough for the Premier League.
He said: “He’s way too good for the level. He’s probably too good for the Championship level if I’m being totally honest.
“But I think he’s got through this season playing with the handbrake on. It sounds really mental when he’s scored like 30 goals, is it? Something silly like that.”
