Birmingham City continue to steamroller their opponents in League One, and now, with the title already wrapped up, the Blues have achieved yet another record.
After their relegation from the Championship last season, Birmingham City have been on a mission to return to the second tier as soon as possible.
The Blues have not been afraid to throw money at that objective, either, and to be fair to them, it’s worked.
They’ve won the League One title with ease, outscored and outmuscled all that stands in their way, and have been chasing the league record points tally for a few weeks.
Now, they’ve done it, and with two games to spare.

Birmingham City register all-time high points tally in League One
Birmingham have lost just three games all season, and are yet to lose at home at all. It’s not surprising, then, that they had secured promotion and the league title earlier this month in record time.
Now, after a strong run of results, including a midweek win over Stevenage and a massive 4-0 win over Mansfield Town on Sunday afternoon, the Blues have finally surpassed Wolves’ 103-point haul to officially become the best team League One has ever seen.
Birmingham are now on 105 points and they still need to play Blackpool on Wednesday night and strugglers Cambridge United on Saturday afternoon to conclude their season.
| Pos | Team | Pld | W | D | L | GF | GA | GD | Pts |
| 1 | Birmingham City | 44 | 32 | 9 | 3 | 80 | 30 | 50 | 105 |
| 2 | Wrexham | 45 | 26 | 11 | 8 | 65 | 34 | 31 | 89 |
| 3 | Stockport County | 45 | 24 | 12 | 9 | 69 | 41 | 28 | 84 |
| 4 | Wycombe Wanderers | 45 | 24 | 12 | 9 | 69 | 42 | 27 | 84 |
| 5 | Charlton Athletic | 45 | 24 | 10 | 11 | 64 | 42 | 22 | 82 |
| 6 | Leyton Orient | 45 | 23 | 6 | 16 | 68 | 47 | 21 | 75 |
When Birmingham sealed the title, it was clear they wanted more, and now they’ve pushed on to achieve an incredible feat that will perhaps never be replicated, especially if they can win their final two games and hit 111 points.
All credit to Chris Davies, whose record this season is immense, so much so that only Arne Slot has picked up more points per game this season.

Tom Wagner expects record-breaking revenue for Birmingham City next season
Meanwhile, alongside all this success on the pitch, the club’s high profile owner Tom Wagner has set his sights on becoming a commercial behemoth when the Blues enter the Championship.
In fact, Wagner thinks his side can compete with the biggest teams in the division when it comes to revenue, and suggested that can significantly increase their chances of getting another promotion.
Speaking to The Times, he said: “Parachute payment clubs have a roughly one-in-four chance of getting promoted. Non-parachute clubs have a one in 16 chance. So, OK, if we can achieve parachute-level revenues, we’re four times more likely to get promoted.
“If our revenue progresses as we expect into next season, which is basically a certainty, we will be the highest revenue-generating club in the Championship ever not receiving parachute payments — and we will be on a par with those receiving parachute payments.
“If we then progress one year further, and we’re fortunate enough to end up in the Premier League, we’ll be a mid-table club or better in total revenue, first year in.
“When you get inside the top eight, those clubs are real financial powerhouses. But between nine and 12, there’s space to move into that sphere and compete with the clubs that are six, seven, eight in total revenue. I think we can get there very quickly.”
We know Wagner’s plan is to get Birmingham to the Premier League as quickly as possible, and the club are expected to smash their transfer record this summer to make it happen, too.
