Championship experts in agreement as ‘carnage’ Preston vs Plymouth prediction ‘seals fate’ for both teams

Preston North End and Plymouth Argyle face each other in a mouthwatering clash at the bottom of the Championship.

Opta predicts relegation for Plymouth but Argyle won’t go down without a fight, with Miron Muslic suggesting he’d have kept Plymouth up if he had been in charge all season.

The hosts are in free-fall and have won just one of their last 13 but in a bid to get fans onside, Preston have reduced tickets to just £5.

Both teams will also keep an eye on Coventry City vs Luton Town where a win for Coventry will all-but-confirm Preston’s place in the Championship next season and give Plymouth hope that they can keep their slim survival chances alive going down to the final day.

Preston backed to pile the agony on Plymouth

Preston and Plymouth played out a six-goal thriller when they met earlier in the season, with Argyle coming back from 3-0 down to draw 3-3.

That sort of energy will need to be channelled by the Pilgrims once again and expert duo Benjamin Bloom and Sam Parkin.

“It would be carnage if Plymouth went to Preston and won. I don’t think they’re going to,” said Bloom. “I think Preston have had the fear gone up them and it’s very much going to be ‘right, win this game and there’s going to be no ridiculous relegation out of nowhere’.

“Plymouth are bad away from home. It could get loose at the end as Plymouth have to try and win so I think there might be goals. I’m going to go for 3-1 Preston.

Parkin meanwhile admitted that he was initially going to settle on a draw but instead agreed with Bloom and predicted more disappointment on the road for Plymouth.

He said: “I think it will be two teams opening up so I’m going to go for more away day misery for Argyle. I’m gonna go for a late Preston winner to seal both teams’ fate, both positively and negatively. 2-1 Preston.”

Preston must keep Mustapha Bundu quiet in relegation six-pointer

Plymouth may look like favourites to go down but they aren’t going to be relegated without a fight and one of those who is doing his best is Mustapha Bundu.

Once a bit-part player, Muslic has brought the Sierra Leone international to life and he has become Argyle’s key talisman.
