Dejphon Chansiri comments on Sheffield Wednesday takeover
The ongoing financial problems come as the Owls are receiving interest regarding a potential takeover.
A possible sale of Sheffield Wednesday to Adam Shaw has been mooted in recent weeks.
Dejphon Chansiri commented on selling the Owls last week, confirming offers had been rejected.
He stated: “You will be aware that an initial offer from the consortium based in Florida, together with one member from the UK, was declined.
“A second offer was made, which was also declined; however, I was willing to negotiate to accelerate the process, despite my best intentions to conclude a deal.
“To avoid any misunderstanding, the first offer was submitted in US dollars and the second in UK pounds. The first offer was $40m plus limited future payments based upon promotion to the Premier League – not $65m as was said at the forum.
“The second offer was £40m plus limited future Premier League promotion payments – far from a guaranteed $75m which was reported in the second media interview.”
Sheffield Wednesday fans hit out at Chansiri for his comments regarding a potential sale.
