Sheffield Wednesday are continuing on their nightmare campaign, with the club only just off the bottom of the Championship table for now.
Dejphon Chansiri did pay the players last month, but he was forced to look elsewhere to raise the funds as supporters continue to protest at Hillsborough.
Grimsby Town face the Owls in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening in S6, with Mariners fans being handed a further 2,000 tickets on the condition they all sell, but it is the off-field situation that those involved in South Yorkshire care most about currently.
There have been calls for Chansiri to sell Sheffield Wednesday on numerous occasions in the past, and the latest update regarding potential investment gives a clue to his future.
How Dejphon Chansiri feels about any potential sale of Sheffield Wednesday
Ensuring that players are paid on time is seemingly Chansiri’s only desire at this moment in time, and he is sourcing outside funds to help himself with that challenge.

With payday in September upcoming, the Thai businessman is once again looking for external help, according to Alan Nixon. However, it seems unlikely at this time that a potential sale will go through, despite previous John Textor interest.
He said: “Dejphon Chansiri is in talks with foreign investors to bail him out at Sheffield Wednesday. Chansiri has been abroad for weeks and raised funds for the last month’s payroll with outside help, and now Chansiri is close to bringing in larger sums to prop up the ailing Championship club.
“There have been many interested parties in buying the Owls but the asking price has put them off. Chansiri has ignored cries for his exit and wants to source the extra cash himself. Any deal would have to be secured by the lender and that may be taken out against the ground or other assets.
“Meanwhile, the Owls have been looking to bring in new staff despite all of the takeover talk and another sign Chansiri plans to ignore public opinion.”

The Owls continue to struggle on the pitch under Dejphon Chansiri’s ownership
Supporters will not stop their protests until Chansiri departs it seems, and for those in the stands at Hillsborough this needs to happen quickly if the club is to have any chance of avoiding relegation.
The summer transfer window was difficult for the Owls to say the very least, and Sheffield Wednesday fans know that their team is lacking depth across the board.

A 3-0 defeat to Bristol City at home on Saturday was yet more evidence of the disparity between themselves and the rest of the division, although there is perhaps some solace in the fact that Sheffield United remain below the Owls for now.
Nonetheless, with Chansiri remaining firm in his desire to continue as the Sheffield Wednesday owner, it is almost impossible to see a way out of this current situation at Hillsborough.
