Leeds United are on the road for the second game in a row with a trip to Teesside on Tuesday night to face Middlesbrough and Michael Carrick at The Riverside.
With just six games left in the Championship season and the Whites outside the top two for the first time since November, they are looking to claim victory and reclaim an automatic promotion place during a crucial stage of the run-in.

| 9 | 40 | 14 | 12 | 14 | 39 | 41 | -2 | 54 |
A run of just one win in six means they now find themselves having to claw their way back, while Boro are looking to consolidate their position inside the play-offs. They have only just recently got back into the play-off mix and face one of their toughest remaining tests of their play-off run-in.
Middlesbrough have lost each of their last five Championship games against Leeds, conceding three or more goals in four of them. The last three fixtures between these two sides in the league have ended 3-1, 4-3, and 3-2 to Leeds and it has the potential to be a goalfest again.

Sam Parkin predicts outcome of Leeds United’s trip to Middlesbrough
Leeds fans will hope for more changes, including Largie Ramazani after disappointing quotes from Daniel Farke, with pundits seriously worried about their decline and some claiming they are falling apart again this season in a repeat of this time last year.
EFL pundit and Sky Sports co-commentator Sam Parkin spoke to Benjamin Bloom to provide his score prediction ahead of the latest game between the pair.
Bloom said: “On TV, Middlesbrough vs Leeds. Leeds have one win in six. What are they doing, Sam?
Parkin replied: “Oh, man. Yeah, I felt these were two really tricky games that needed a decent return.
“Just to get that feeling back — and a little bit of confidence, a little bit of rhythm.
“I don’t think they’re going to get it here. I don’t think they’re going to get it here. I looked at some of the numbers — they’re still scoring goals, obviously.
“But I just think in the 10 and at No.9 at the moment, there’s a lack of options, really. I mean, you can play Gnonto in there or Ramazani or whatever, and change the look of it a little bit.
“But I just think there’s a lack of goals. Piroe has got one in eight. I mean, Bamford came on the other day and had that opportunity at Luton.
“They’re obviously the ones in the top three — despite Sheffield United’s defeat — that there’s the biggest uncertainty about. That’s understandable, given last year as well.
“Have I had a 2-2? A 2-2 to contradict myself. Two on the road, 2-2. From midfield — goals from midfield.”
Bloom responded: “So, Sam, it was 3-4 at the end of last season. It’s literally the same two managers playing the exact same way with a lot of the same players.”
Parkin said: “Middlesbrough smashed them in the League Cup in the early part of this season.”
Bloom replied: “Yeah, it was a bit of an outlier. I don’t pay too much attention to that. But I don’t see why it would be any different, Sam.
“I like your 2-2 and I’m going to raise it. I’m going to back Leeds and go 3-2. I just don’t see any reason why there wouldn’t be loads of goals.
“We know exactly what these managers are going to do. I’m sure Leeds fans would love the most boring 2-0 possible. They ain’t getting it but I’ll give them a win.”

The best attacks in the Championship go head to head in Middlesbrough vs Leeds
With six games to go, we’re all desperate for a title race that goes to the final day, and more of Farke’s claims that Luton Town was a ‘good point’ could see that transpire. But they require a win on the road now when considering their difficult form of late.
He and Michael Carrick disagreed last time out but both will know what it at stake at the business end of the season. They have two of the league’s most devastating attacks, which is why it should be a game full of goals.
| Rank | Team | Goals | xG (rank) |
| 1 | Leeds United | 79 | 75.0 (1st) |
| 2 | Norwich City | 62 | 57.1 (4th) |
| 3 | Middlesbrough | 61 | 58.1 (3rd) |
| 4 | Coventry City | 57 | 62.8 (2nd) |
| 5 | Sunderland | 57 | 55.5 (5th) |
Can Leeds’ attack click like it did earlier in the season? If it can, then they stand a great chance of promotion. Unfortunately, only Dan James has been reliably supplying goals and assists of late.
That said, both sides have numerous players who could be considered the best in the Championship, making it a potential cracker for the neutral on Teesside.
