Hull City’s hopes of progressing under new manager Sergej Jakirovic have been decimated by problems off the pitch.
Hull were slapped with a three-window transfer ban at the start of July, and this has prompted anger towards owner Acun Ilicali.
The Tigers are only allowed to sign players on a free transfer or loan without a fee involved, and this is having widespread consequences on the future of several stars.
Rangers have been linked with winger Abu Kamara, as Russell Martin continues to shop for Championship talent, while Sean McLoughlin is closing in on a move to Blackburn Rovers, and Wrexham want Alfie Jones.
Unfortunately, there were also fears that goalkeeper Ivor Pandur could leave amid interest from Italy, but the Croatian has now issued a positive update on his future.

Ivor Pandur is ‘happy’ at Hull City
Hull had Pandur to thank for keeping them in the Championship last term, as the 25-year-old made countless stunning saves at key points in matches.
The promising gloveman was rewarded with all three club awards at the ceremony, including the players’, fans’ and managers’ Player of the Year.
Ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, keeping Pandur will be crucial to their chances of staying in the division under difficult circumstances, and luckily, the former Fortuna Sittard stopper is ‘happy’ at the MKM Stadium.
When asked if he would expect any interest by BBC Radio Humberside’s James Hoggarth, the talented goalkeeper said: “Yeah, could be not, maybe yes interest always.”
“But that’s still so far from anything happening, and I can just say that I’m happy here, especially with the fans who gave me so much love last season, so I’m really grateful for that, and I’m a player of Hull City, that’s how things stand.”
Pandur could be worried by transfer developments
During 2024/25, Pandur bailed his defence out on multiple occasions, proving why Hull paid around £1.7 million for his services in 2024.
The former Croatian under-21 international will expect to face a constant wave of attacks in the second tier next term, especially with ongoing transfer developments.
Although Hull signed Semi Ajayi on a free transfer in June, McLoughlin is close to joining Blackburn and Jones could leave for £3 million, leaving City with just three senior options at centre-back.
That could worry Pandur ahead of the new season, although Hull Live has reported that a new arrival is close in that position, which is much-needed.
