Leicester City fans finally have something to cheer about as ‘elite talent’ gives them hope for next season

Of all the teams in the EFL, this season has been particularly painful for Leicester City fans for a multitude of reasons, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Having been promoted as champions last season, there was hope that Leicester could re-establish themselves as a top flight force.

That has not happened. Not by a long shot. In fact, the Foxes have been relegated, they’re in a bit of a financial mess, and Ruud van Nistelrooy may or may not be sticking around next season.

On top of all that, season ticket holders at the King Power Stadium had to endure five months without a league goal at home, and then they were told Jamie Vardy is leaving the club.

Fun times to be a Fox, but it’s not all bad news…

Leicester City fans are very excited about Jeremy Monga

Taking to social media after his latest appearance in blue, Leicester City fans raved about 15-year-old winger Jeremy Monga, whose emergence this season has been one of the few positive notes in Leicester’s miserable campaign.

The Rising Foxes Twitter/X account posted a clip of Monga almost scoring against Nottingham Forest this weekend, writing: “Elite Talent. To look this comfortable in Premier League games at 15 is remarkable. What a moment this would have been for him, but regardless he still keeps showing these qualities. Plenty more to come.”

In the replies, one fan said: “He gets more and more confident by every second he’s on the pitch. Looked nervous and shaky against Newcastle but has grown into a player that can definitely be starting. Won’t be surprised if he grabs a goal or assist in one of the next two games.”

Among the other comments, it is suggested Monga “Will be a massive asset in the Championship,” and the young player was told, “If he is smart, for his development, he will stay and play for Leicester for the next two seasons.”

Finally, another supporter added: “Fantastic player. Leicester need to integrate him more and more into the team. Should get consistent minutes in the Championship.”

What’s the plan for Leicester City next season?

First and foremost, Ruud van Nistelrooy’s future has not been decided, either by him or the club. The Foxes do have options, though, with Sean Dyche in consideration, as well as Russell Martin, Liam Manning, and Lee Carsley.

Meanwhile, on the pitch, Wilfred Ndidi could leave for cheap, and Bilal El Khannouss is being chased by Arsenal. Throw in the Vardy departure, and there are a lot of gaps to fill in this Leicester squad.

Still, with Monga rising through the ranks, and Jake Evans looking like a top young talent, plus the fact Leicester will have more parachute payments to tide them over, there’s every chance they can challenge at the top of the Championship next season.
