Rival fans make same point as Leicester City eye Cesc Fabregas as Ruud van Nistelrooy replacement

Leicester City are beginning to prepare for life without Ruud van Nistelrooy and have several names in mind.

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Leicester City future has been called into question since the club suffered relegation to the Championship over the weekend.

Van Nistelrooy is expected to take charge vs Wolves later this week and will more than likely see out the season.

However, the Foxes are already looking at alternatives to the Dutchman, with Lee Carsley linked to Leicester recently.

This week, meanwhile, has seen a number of new names tipped to make the move to the King Power Stadium.

Fans react to Leicester City wanting Cesc Fabregas

Leicester have a shortlist of managerial targets drawn up, which includes Danny Rohl and Russell Martin.

Meanwhile, another surprising name linked this week has been former Arsenal, Chelsea, and FC Barcelona star, Cesc Fabregas.

The Spaniard is currently managing Como, and after hearing that the Foxes want the ex-midfielder to join them, rival fans have taken to social media to react, with many quick to point out the pretty absurd nature of the link.

One fan wrote: “No way Fabregas is leaving Como for that dead club.”

A second replied: “After they relegated, they are considering Fabregas, what kinda joke is that?”

“How could you possibly think Fabregas would leave Como for Championship football,” a third questioned.

Another rival fan added: “Why the —- would Fabregas go there when he’s successfully managing a top division Italian team.”

A fifth supporter simply wrote: “Fabregas won’t leave Como,” with a sixth adding: “Not a chance a little club like Leicester could attract him.”

While another stated: “Fabregas would be silly to leave the project at Como for the Championship at this time. There’s such great things to do at Como.”

Ruud van Nistelrooy stint may concern Leicester City targets

It’s fair to say that Van Nistelrooy has not exactly enjoyed a good stint at Leicester.

And while the manager must take some blame for the poor performances, he certainly wasn’t helped out by the club.

Leicester did not back Ruud in January despite the former striker making it clear he wanted a number of players signed.

Fans have been protesting the ownership at the King Power this season as well, which will surely be a sign to any manager potentially considering the role that they may not get the support required.
