One of Sheffield United’s stars joined the club this summer to revitalise his international career despite being hesitant to join the Blades.
The signing of this international star was viewed as a major coup by Sheffield United, as they beat both Wrexham and Leicester City to his signature.
Whether he will be a success at Bramall Lane is another question; however, he has all the qualities to succeed, and with the drive to be featured in the World Cup next summer, he will look to find form for Sheffield United.
This is exactly what the Blades need after they equalled their worst start to a campaign outside the English top flight for 30 years, as they lost their opening four Championship fixtures under Ruben Selles.

Chiedozie Ogbene opens up on why he joined Sheffield United
The Republic of Ireland international made the decision to join Sheffield United on loan this summer after Ipswich Town signed his international colleague, Kasey McAteer.
Chiedozie Ogbene was hoping to work his way back into the Ipswich team after a long layoff through injury last season; however, the signing of McAteer while he continues his recovery meant that he made the decision to join Sheffield United on loan for the season.
Speaking with the Irish Independent, he said: “When Kasey came, I thought he was a good signing for the club [Ipswich]. There’s 46 games in the Championship plus cups, so we’re going to need help. Kasey was a good signing, but I’ve always wanted to play games.

“It’s selfish of me, but I wanted minutes. This was putting my career in a better position. I wanted to develop and focus on myself. It wasn’t just about Kasey. Whoever came in, regardless, I spoke to the manager to gauge where he sees things.
“I just wasn’t happy not playing as many minutes, especially after being out for so long, and I didn’t want to lose the opportunity to be here. I know how much international football means for me and my family. It was best for myself.”

Chiedozie Ogbene ‘sacrificed a lot’ ahead of move to Sheffield United
As part of the interview with the Irish Independent, ahead of the Republic of Ireland’s World Cup qualifier with Hungary this Saturday, Ogbene opened up about his recovery from injury.
He said: “I sacrificed a lot to be here. I was diligent in my rehab and had a really good pre-season. I did play minutes and did what I could to be named. Nothing is guaranteed. Nobody is promised anything in this life or team. You still have to prove yourself to the manager. I came into camp as if this was my first.
“Everybody is always fighting. I’m very grateful to be here because there’s some really good players left out. Festy and Jayson Molumby aren’t here; very good players missed out because I got a seat in the squad.”
