An important date is on the horizon for Sheffield Wednesday after a summer of hammer blows.
Sheffield Wednesday dominated the Championship headlines over the summer months as a result of the Owls’ financial plight.
EFL embargoes, a summer exodus, and Danny Rohl’s departure have all come in a matter of months for the club that continues to be mismanaged by owner Dejphon Chansiri.
In a mark of their condemnation, Sheffield Wednesday fans will protest against Chansiri this weekend in their home clash against Bristol City.
With resentment towards the Thai businessman already prevalent, the latest Sheffield Wednesday crisis will only add fuel to the fire.

Sheffield Wednesday owe £7.3m before September 30
After a summer of blows for Sheffield Wednesday, owner Chansiri is approaching an imperative date for the Owls regarding their financial health.
Alex Miller of the Sheffield Star reports that a mortgage (in layman’s terms) is owed by Sheffield Wednesday is due on September 30, and that the fee now stands at a staggering £7.3m.
The report adds that the charge has increased from £6.4m in September 2020, after being ‘rolled-up’ with interest.
Miller states: “This is the fifth charge to have been rolled over by New Avenue Projects.
“There is a more than reasonable chance the charge will not simply be rolled over this year as has been routine to date – and that Wednesday may already have been asked to repay a significant chunk of the total sum owed on September 30.
“Should any immediate financial obligation lodged by New Avenue Projects be satisfied on time, no further action would be necessary for 12 months.
“It is believed Chansiri will have a grace period in which to settle the debt beyond September 30 should it be required.
“In the event Chansiri is not able to repay any figure officially called in, some of the more stringent enforcement options New Avenue Projects could enact would include applying to put the club into administration,
“Or, appointing a receiver over Hillsborough, which would have the authority to claim rent from the club or ultimately put the stadium up for sale.
“Should both of those options be taken at the same time, a suggestion is that an insolvency practitioner could in theory be appointed to manage the sale of both club and stadium as one.”
Sheffield Wednesday fans are no strangers to negative news at the moment, as the Owls’ struggles continue on the field as well as off it.

Sheffield Wednesday’s struggles continue in the Championship
Chansiri has plunged Sheffield Wednesday into financial despair over recent months and has therefore left head coach Henrik Pedersen with a monumental task to avoid relegation to League One.
Unfortunately for the Owls fans, reports emerged last week that Chansiri could be searching for “fresh investment” at Sheffield Wednesday rather than facilitating a sale.

Surprisingly, given all that has occurred this year, former Owls star Josh Windass believes Chansiri cares about Sheffield Wednesday, but his claim will be hard to stomach for those in S6.
Pedersen’s Owls face Bristol City this weekend, and his side will be desperate to achieve their first win of the season and climb out of the relegation zone.
