Sheffield Wednesday fans’ worst fears could become reality if owner Dejphon Chansiri achieves one outcome that journalist Alan Biggs has aired.
Sheffield Wednesday have been the talk of the Championship over the summer, for all of the wrong reasons.
The Owls’ financial crisis, overseen by owner Dejphon Chansiri, has put one of English Football’s most historic clubs on the precipice of collapse.
High-profile exits, embargoes and almost everything in between have plagued the club all summer thanks to Chansiri’s mismanagement, which has seen Sheffield Wednesday’s value reduce by 47.4%.
Bizarrely, Chansiri still values Sheffield Wednesday at £100m, and now the Thai businessman could be searching for “fresh investment” rather than a sale.

Sheffield Wednesday owner Dejphon Chansiri may want ‘fresh investment’
As a result of the trials and tribulations in S6 this summer, Sheffield Wednesday fans have taken drastic measures to bring Chansiri’s failures as an owner to light.
Sheffield Wednesday fans protested Chansiri outside the Thai Embassy in London this week and penned a letter to Thai dignitaries in the hopes of an outcome persuading him “to engage appropriately and professionally with the sales process with a view to selling SWFC”.
Takeover rumours have lingered over Hillsborough for months, seeing the likes of former Crystal Palace co-owner John Textor linked with a Sheffield Wednesday takeover.
However, expert Sheffield football reporter Alan Biggs has outlined that Chansiri could be searching for “fresh investment” at Sheffield Wednesday instead of selling up.
Biggs said on X: “If Dejphon Chansiri somehow nets fresh investment to keep control of SWFC it makes things much worse.
“Only aggravates the issue… which is HIM owning it. Can’t seem to accept that’s why fans don’t want him. It’s his METHODS that have run the club aground.”
In a separate tweet, Biggs added: “It’s been the strong suspicion for a week that this is his aim & that he wants to cling on.”
As expected, with all they have to endure this summer, Sheffield Wednesday fans want Chansiri to sell the club, and they will be distraught if the Thai businessman remains as owner with renewed investment.

Sheffield Wednesday takeover must happen before investment
Despite the best efforts of new head coach Henrik Pedersen, the Owls have already slumped to the relegation zone after their opening four league fixtures.
A depleted Sheffield Wednesday side sit just above their rock-bottom neighbours, Sheffield United, following the Owls’ defeats to Leicester City, Stoke City and Swansea City so far this season.

Therefore, it is evident that now is the time for change at Sheffield Wednesday with the EFL failing to take action against Chansiri.
When it comes into play in November, it is believed that the Independent Football Regulator will look at Chansiri with a very watchful eye, and the Sheffield Wednesday faithful will be desperate that no “fresh investment” comes for Chansiri by then.
