Sheffield Wednesday supporters are going to great lengths in the hopes of resolving their financial crisis overseen by owner Dejphon Chansiri.
After a heart-wrenching summer at Sheffield Wednesday, plagued by the financial issues under the ownership of Dejphon Chansiri, fans are still desperate to see him sell the club.
Chansiri’s financial failures this summer have seen several high-profile players depart and a transfer embargo placed on the Owls, which has severely hampered their prospects for the new season.
Chansiri’s £100m Sheffield Wednesday valuation was labelled not “logical” by football finance expert Kieran Maguire, and is one of the main factors as to why no takeover has taken place yet.
Now, one section of the Sheffield Wednesday supporter base has taken drastic measures to try and resolve the situation regarding the Thai businessman.

Sheffield Wednesday fans’ protest letter about Dejphon Chansiri
Sheffield Wednesday fans want Chansiri to sell desperately, and they have taken to drastic measures to bring light to the situation.
Another Sheffield Wednesday boycott is planned at Hillsborough for their Carabao Cup clash against Grimsby after the international break, with the support of the Grimsby supporters’ trust.
On Thursday, over 100 Owls fans took their protests to the Thai Embassy in London, in an attempt to implore a Chansiri sale.
A staff member at the London embassy was handed a scathing letter explaining why the Sheffield Wednesday supporters were protesting against Chansiri.
Part of the London Owls’ letter read: “Our protest outside your embassy today is directed at the actions of only one individual, Dejphon Chansiri.
“Our protest today aims to highlight the impact of Dejphon Chansiri’s conduct on Sheffield Wednesday Football Club (SWFC) and its wider community.
“Its purpose is to communicate our sincere request that your influence is used to persuade Dejphon Chansiri to (i) operate SWFC in a manner that is correct & respectful to its employees and the community and (ii) engage appropriately and professionally with the sales process with a view to selling SWFC.
“We write to make you aware of the gross mismanagement of SWFC that now threatens the survival of one of the world’s oldest professional football clubs.
“SWFC has been repeatedly sanctioned by the English Football League, most recently because Dejphon Chansiri has failed to pay non-playing staff, many of them loyal supporters who have worked many years for the club & mostly earn low salaries, but also over the years because he has failed to pay players wages on time.
“There has also been repeated late payment to the UK tax authority (HMRC) & other clubs for transfer fees owing. SWFC’s football stadium, Hillsborough, is in a state of disrepair imperilling the safety of supporters.
“Mr. Chansiri has not responded to these matters when they were raised by the six Sheffield MPs, and it is it is very worrying that our elected MPs are ignored when raising issues of great concern to their constituents.
“Mr. Chansiri’s conduct threatens not just a historic football club. Most supporters treasure friendships built up over years of attending games & numerous local businesses are at risk through the loss of matchday income.”

Sheffield Wednesday boss Henrik Pedersen set for free agent boost
With the financial limitations and restrictions hanging over Hillsborough, Sheffield Wednesday completed only two signings this summer, with loan moves for Harry Amass and Ethan Horvath.
Manchester United loanee Amass is an exciting addition for Sheffield Wednesday, and Horvath has already won the hearts of supporters after his heroics in the Carabao Cup penalty shoot-out victory over Leeds United.

EFL Analysis exclusively revealed that Sheffield Wednesday are exploring the free agent market following the end of the summer transfer window, but the Owls will have to see “what the EFL will let them do”.
Former promotion hero Jack Hunt has been training with Sheffield Wednesday, and the experienced full-back’s return would be a welcome sight in S6 for Henrik Pedersen.
