Sheffield Wednesday have finally released their new home shirt for the 2025/26 season.

With just over three weeks to go until the first Championship fixtures of the campaign, the Owls have plenty of work to do in every department to ensure that they are somewhat ready for the challenge ahead.

Fans are split after Danny Rohl took training on Monday, with the German previously telling his players he will be leaving the club. Meanwhile, Dejphon Chansiri owes £4m in footballing debts, and new ownership has to come soon.

Djeidi Gassama has been sold for just £2.2m, and frustrations are starting to boil over. Now, Sheffield Wednesday fans have hit out after their new home strip was announced.

Sheffield Wednesday fans are seething with the price of their new kit

Just about every side in the division has released at least one of their kits for the new season, with Leicester City fans also fuming after their players wore a training top in a pre-season friendly.

Nevertheless, Sheffield Wednesday supporters are not happy for more than one reason with their new shirt.

A second fan wrote: “£72 for that. That money is going straight into Chansiri’s pocket. Boycott everything until he’s gone.”

While another put: “Not a prayer I will be paying £72 for that. I’ve bought one every year, not this year. Enough is enough.”

“Won’t be spending a penny on merch or match day refreshments until it is confirmed that Chansiri has left the building. I would hope that the majority of Wednesdayites follow suit,” said a fifth.

As a sixth Sheffield Wednesday supporter wrote: “If you buy this shirt then you are part of the problem. Buy it by all means but wait till he has sold the club and gets behind the new owner 100%. Chansiri isn’t getting a single round coin off me ever again.”

Dejphon Chansiri’s ownership must come to an end ASAP

It’s been a tumultuous summer for Sheffield Wednesday, and the only resolution to this situation is Chansiri’s ownership coming to an end.

In 2021, the Owls’ owner took ‘full responsibility’ for relegation, but he has shown anything but that since and for the sake of the supporters, players and staff, it cannot continue like this.

Tilman Fertitta is thought to be keen on buying Wednesday, and the EFL will work with the club to help with the transition if a takeover does occur, but the situation surrounding the kit is yet another problem on a growing list.
