One Sheffield Wednesday star looks set to depart the club after handing in his notice, with other Championship clubs set to monitor his whereabouts.
Sheffield Wednesday’s disastrous summer continues to go from bad to worse, with their first team being torn apart.
Henrik Pedersen has replaced Danny Rohl, and it already looks like a seismic job for the Dane, whose first-team ranks continue to deplete day after day.
The Owls have already lost Djeidi Gassama and Anthony Musaba for minimal fees, whilst Dejphon Chansiri’s inability to pay players on time has led to Michael Smith and Josh Windass both terminating their contracts.
Now, things look set to get even worse for Sheffield Wednesday, as yet another key player has handed in their notice.

Sheffield Wednesday star Max Lowe hands in notice
According to Rob Staton on X, Sheffield Wednesday defender Max Lowe has reportedly handed in his notice at the club, meaning he will depart by August 15.
It was also reported yesterday that Sheffield Wednesday players were not paid on time for the third successive month, which has sparked mass unrest amongst the squad and staff.
Lowe will join a long list of players who have departed S6 or continue to face uncertainty regarding their future.
Lowe joined Sheffield Wednesday in the summer of 2024/25, a time when optimism ran thick around Hillsborough – a stark contrast to the present day.
Championship clubs will be alerted by Max Lowe’s departure
Despite a fairly slow start to life at Sheffield Wednesday early last season, Max Lowe soon managed to kick into gear and become a top player for the Owls.
Even Danny Rohl was a huge fan of the Owls’ full-back, having said in January, via The Star: “Max is in an outstanding place at the moment.
“He is calm, very comfortable on the ball but also in the duels with front-foot defending, he is very hard to beat and this is great to see.”
After the impact he made at Sheffield Wednesday last season, there will no doubt be other clubs looking to snap him up because of his imminent departure.
Leicester City have already shown interest in Lowe this summer, whilst Preston North End are also keen on the Sheffield Wednesday star.
It looks likely that a Championship club will benefit greatly by bringing in such a dependable defender on a free, whilst Sheffield Wednesday continue to battle through issues on a daily basis.
