The future of Rhian Brewster at Sheffield United will be a key talking point once the 2024/25 campaign comes to a close.
It has been a mixed season for the Blades, who have missed out on automatic promotion this week.
After a drop in form, suggestions Sheffield United were falling apart began to mount and unfortunately came to fruition on Monday when Leeds United and Burnley secured first and second place.

Sheffield United fans dread the play-offs, but will now have to compete in them if they are to earn a swift return to the Premier League.
One man who is expected to play a key role in the Yorkshire outfit’s quest for promotion in the coming weeks is Rhian Brewster, whose future at Bramall Lane beyond 2025 remains up in the air.

How much Rhian Brewster has earned per Sheffield United goal
Brewster earned praise from Sheffield United fans last month when he scored a key goal in the latest Steel City Derby win.
Supporters at the time were demanding a 10-year contract for the attacker, who joined the club on October 2nd, 2020, from Liverpool.
Since his transfer, Brewster has notched over 100 appearances, but his goal return is really subpar for a forward.
| Rhian Brewster | Goals | Assists | Appearances |
| Sheffield United stats | 9 | 4 | 114 |
After joining from Liverpool, the 25-year-old was handed a five-year contract, which sees him take home £35,000-a-week, as per Capology.
At the time of writing, there have been 276 weeks and six days since his arrival at Sheff Utd, meaning he has so far notched a whopping £9.66m.
That works out at a staggering £1.07m for every goal scored for the Blades.
The Englishman’s deal runs out at the end of June 2025, but Brewster gave a contract update earlier in April, confirming talks are already under way.
He said: “I want to be back in the Premier League. I’m concentrating on the rest of the season, but the club and I are in talks about a new contract. I love it here, I love the fans… My ultimate goal… is to play on the biggest stage, I want to show everyone what I can do.”

Highest paid Sheffield United players
Whether or not it is wise of Sheffield United to offer a new deal to a player who has largely underperformed for much of his spell remains to be seen.
Promotion to the Premier League would certainly help justify a new contract for Brewster, who is reported to be the joint-highest earner at Bramall Lane.
