Sheffield Wednesday are at risk of losing more players for free due to a FIFA rule.
Wednesday’s players won’t be paid on time again, days after reports claimed that Dejphon Chansiri had missed payments.
It is the fifth time this has happened in the last seven months, and while non-playing staff will receive £1,000, the debacle is another sign of the issues at Hillsborough.
Things have got so bad that the Owls’ mascot has called out the club and as another payday is missed, the club are at risk of losing more key players.

Sheffield Wednesday players could leave for nothing
The likes of Josh Windass have ripped up their contracts earlier in the season due to delayed or failed payments, and now he may not be the only one.
As per FIFA’s rules, if a player is not paid on time twice they are allowed to rip up and cancel their contract within 15 days of the day they were meant to be paid.
They state: “In the case of a club unlawfully failing to pay a player at least two monthly salaries on their due dates, the player will be deemed to have a just cause to terminate his contract, provided that he has put the debtor club in default in writing and has granted a deadline of at least 15 days for the debtor club to fully comply with its financial obligation(s).”
Sheffield Wednesday to play against Birmingham City
There would be more than likely be no grumbles from anyone if the Wednesday squad opted not to play.
Birmingham City await and the Owls could get back-to-back wins against the Blues for the first time since February 2016.

Supporters will pack the away end at St Andrew’s at Knighthead Park on Tuesday night and will be heard in unison, with plenty of chants directed towards Chansiri.
