Sheffield Wednesday still need saving amid the ongoing chaos of Dejphon Chansiri’s ownership, but John Textor has a few things on his to-do list before he can feasibly take over the Owls.
There currently appears to be little hope of Sheffield Wednesday completing a takeover any time soon, which could well put their whole season and indeed the club’s future in jeopardy.
Dejphon Chansiri’s financial issues have cost the club dearly in the past few months, and will continue to do so unless they are miraculously resolved soon.
There is, at least, some hope that Chansiri will pay his staff for August. But, when it comes to the long-term, many Owls fans believe John Textor is the answer.

The latest on John Textor’s interest in Sheffield Wednesday
Just a few days ago, it was revealed that Textor was prepared to talk to Chansiri about a potential takeover. It was also said that his first focus would be to add to the depleted Owls squad.
The latest on the matter comes from Alan Nixon via Patreon. His new report states that Textor is looking to “raise the funds to rescue” the club, with “more trouble” on the horizon including potential points deductions.
For Textor, the key issue right now is that he “has to find” backers to come on board and help his bid. The American would be the “front man” for any proposed takeover bid, but would need “wealthy” collaborators to make it work.
It is thought Textor wants to do a deal with Chansiri “as soon as possible”, but that’s where the other hurdle lies. The Owls’ owner is out of the country and “has no plans” to return any time soon.
While Chansiri is said to be “open to a meeting”, the rumours of such a meeting taking place in London this week are wide of the mark.
Meanwhile, Nixon claims one American bidder has already dropped out of the running to take over at Hillsborough due to the threat of relegation looming over the S6 side.

Dejphon Chansiri will keep dragging his feet over Sheffield Wednesday sale
Despite openly saying he would sell the club, it has long been suspected that Chansiri actually has no intention to leave.
Indeed, after Chansiri rejected offers earlier this summer, and considering his absurd valuation of the club, it does seem as if the Thai businessman is dragging his feet.
It is now thought the new Independent Football Regulator will investigate Chansiri extensively when the governing body becomes operational. That could be three months away, though.
Until then, Henrik Pedersen and his small but spirited squad will have to keep fighting on the pitch to get results. And hopefully, in the meantime, some progress can be made off the pitch when it comes to getting Chansiri to sell up.
