Bolton Wanderers have gone a little bit under the radar in League One this summer.
There has been plenty of focus on Huddersfield Town, who are making themselves favourites for the title, while Luton Town do look strong under the guidance of Matt Bloomfield.
The Trotters missed out on the play-offs last season due to a myriad of problems, but their poor start under Ian Evatt meant that the top six started to look further and further away as the weeks went by – although they did start to catch up towards the end of the campaign.
Nevertheless, this season is one of promise for Bolton and their supporters, with their latest addition even further proof of their intentions for 2025/26.

Bolton Wanderers are showing their hand with Ethan Erhahon signing
Ethan Erhahon signed for the Trotters on Friday, leaving Lincoln City after an impressive campaign in 2024/25.

Wigan Athletic were winning the race for the midfielder, but Bolton pipped their Greater Manchester rivals to his signature at the last moment, according to information from our Chief Football Correspondent, Graeme Bailey.
Derby County and Blackburn Rovers were also showing an interest in Erhahon earlier in the summer, but Steven Schumacher has managed to persuade the 24-year-old to make the move to the Toughsheet Community Stadium.
It’s a statement signing, and the former Scotland U21 international will be keen to hit the ground running as he looks to help take his new team to the Championship.
The promotion picture in League One is hard to judge
It’s going to be a very interesting season in League One, with the battle at the top extremely hard to judge right now.
Cardiff City and Plymouth Argyle are both unknown entities following relegation and they may struggle to have as much success as others, but they must not be written off this early.

Bolton have made some smart signings, with the likes of Sam Dalby, Thierry Gale and Xavier Simons also joining the club among others.
There is still more work that needs to be done, especially after Huddersfield signed Alfie May, but the Trotters are definitely going to be in and around top sides this season.
