Leicester City’s final shortlist to find their new manager has one obvious concern

We’re well into July and Leicester City are still looking for a new manager.

The Foxes have been in all sorts of bother ever since sacking Ruud van Nistelrooy and still haven’t found his replacement.

Leicester even played in training kits for their first pre-season friendly, as they ran out 3-1 winners against League One outfit Peterborough United.

Danny Rohl is one of the favourites to become Leicester manager while EFL Analysis has reported in the past that Sean Dyche is a contender for the Foxes hot seat.

Now, Alan Nixon has revealed that Chris Wilder is another one of the candidates on the shortlist.

Wilder was sacked by Sheffield United but could be offered an instant return to work; however, there is one obvious concern that should be alarming Leicester supporters.

What is the Leicester City style?

What do Chris Wilder, Sean Dyche and Danny Rohl all have in common?

That’s right, they don’t have anything in common and all three play very different brands of football.

What might seem like a minor issue actually exposes a wider problem at the King Power Stadium.

Three very different styles of management seems to suggest that Leicester don’t know what they actually want moving forward.

Previous managerial appointments have shown that the Foxes flip-flop with styles (Enzo Maresca to Steve Cooper to Van Nistelrooy) and that there is no clear plan at the club.

Reports have suggested that Leicester could make one of the biggest backroom reshuffles of the last decade. Part of that needs to include a definitive answer as to how the Foxes want to play.

Leicester City need a new manager as soon as possible

There’s just one month until the Championship gets underway and as time ticks on, Leicester look less than prepared.

Andy King is taking charge of the Foxes for now, but a more experienced boss needs to come in at the helm to steer the ship.

The longer it drags on, though, the possibility of King being in the dugout for the first round of Championship fixtures, with a home tie against Sheffield Wednesday on 10 August, becomes more real than ever and supporter discontent continues to grow.
