Blackburn Rovers have undergone a major overhauling of players in the summer transfer window, with the landscape of Valerien Ismael’s side changing drastically.

Blackburn Rovers striker Makhtar Gueye could be forced to stay despite Turkish interest

It has been reported that Blackburn Rovers striker Makhtar Gueye could join Kocaelispor.

It had also been exclusively revealed by EFL Analysis early in the summer transfer window that Gueye would be leaving Blackburn Rovers, but such a deal may not be given a green light.

According to a recent update by Alan Nixon on Patreon, Blackburn Rovers are reportedly ‘worried about letting striker Makhtar Gueye leave’, which could lead to them blocking the move.

While Gueye has been left ‘unsettled by his lack of game time’ given to him by Valerien Ismael so far this season, having not been given a single Championship start, the deal is now ‘unlikely’ because of the lack of depth that Blackburn would be left with.

There is a paranoia that Blackburn’s lack of depth up front could come back to haunt them, which could lead to them pulling the plug on Gueye’s departure to Turkey.

Blackburn Rovers are unable to come to a positive conclusion over the Makhtar Gueye saga

With 10 arrivals through the door at Ewood Park, it would be expected that Blackburn Rovers would have solved their attacking woes, but even after the transfer window has concluded, there are still concerns for the club.

Because of their difficulty in bringing sufficient numbers in the forward line, they now face a situation that has left them with no way out.

It makes more sense for Blackburn Rovers to keep Makhtar Gueye at the club due to the lack of depth, but this will see them retain a player who clearly has his mind elsewhere.

Blackburn Rovers managed to bring in some talent in the summer transfer window, but it cannot be avoided that key areas were left out.
