Adam Idah had been tipped for a shock £7 million move from Celtic to Swansea City before the close of the summer transfer window.
Celtic signed the Republic of Ireland international last season on a permanent transfer in a deal worth £9 million from Norwich City after a prolific initial loan spell at Parkhead.
Swansea have been chasing a striker this summer and have shifted their targets after missing out on Richard Kone, who opted to move to QPR.
The Swans had previously been linked to Schalke striker Moussa Sylla, who was valued at £5.5 million; however, this interest never materialised, and now they had agreed a deal with Celtic for Adam Idah; however, a problem has arisen in this transfer.

Celtic will not sell Adam Idah without replacement
Ahead of the Old Firm with Rangers, the Celtic manager addressed the exit of Adam Idah and Yang Hyun-Jun, who has been linked with a move to Birmingham City.
Brendan Rodgers spoke to Sky Sports about how busy Celtic would be before the close of the transfer window on September 1.
He said: “There’s interest in Adam, but obviously no-one can leave here unless we get players in to replace.
“It’s as simple as that.
“There’s been negotiations and chat around it, but I have to have players in here before I can consider letting anyone go.
“I’m pretty sure there would be a number of clubs that would want some of our players, but there’s absolutely no way we can move anyone out unless we have absolute guarantees that there’s going to be people to come in to replace.”
Celtic’s struggles to sign Kasper Dolberg
It has been reported by journalist Anthony Joseph that the Celtic deal to sign Kasper Dolberg has stalled, and this has put the Swansea City deal for Adam Idah in doubt.
Idah had made the journey to Wales from Scotland to complete his medical earlier in the day; however, he was recalled by Celtic after the stall in the Danish international.
Personal terms had also been agreed between Swansea City and Idah; however, the deal would not be finalised until there was a replacement signed by Celtic, as they had sanctioned the deal without bringing in Dolberg.
The Scottish giants have Johnny Kenny as another option in attack; however, he has been subject to interest from Bolton Wanderers for a loan deal, and should Idah leave, he will remain.
