Huddersfield Town are making quick work of bringing in new players in the summer transfer window.
After relegation to League One at the end of the 2023/24 campaign, it has been a frustrating 12 months at the John Smith’s Stadium as the Terriers missed out on a play-off spot in May.
However, Lee Grant is pushing to make Huddersfield the favourites for the title in the third tier, but there are still a number of positions that need more depth if they are to do so.
The additions of Joe Taylor and Dion Charles in the January transfer window were perhaps the start of this revolution in West Yorkshire, yet still fans do have concerns about one issue as another player is announced.

Huddersfield Town supporters express concerns as Jack Whatmough signs
Huddersfield fans have been complimentary about their club’s business so far, but they have now signed Jack Whatmough – another defender.

The 28-year-old has plenty of League One experience, but supporters are worried about the number of players the club have signed at the back.
A second Terrier fan wrote: “Looks like we’re playing 7-3-0 formation this season.”
While another put: “Safe to say we’re all good in defence now.”
One supporter joked: “Looking a bit light in defence.”
As a fifth said: “Can we get a CAM and some attackers in now please.”

Lee Grant needs to bring in a creative force
After their failure to win promotion in 2024/25, Huddersfield have to go all out next season as they look for a spot in the Championship once again.
Not having to compete against the record-breaking Birmingham City will help, but there is no denying that the Terriers need a creative force in midfield.

Taylor needs someone to supply him with passes that allow him proper chances of finding the back of the net. While defensive strength is good, without goals Huddersfield are going nowhere and Grant must recognise that issue.
