Luton Town face significant transfer threat from Rangers for £3m star, the Hatters are under pressure

Luton Town are in real danger of losing more of their key players this summer.

It’s been two months since Matt Bloomfield slammed his players after they were beaten 5-3 by West Bromwich Albion away from home, with that defeat sending the club back to League One for the first time since 2019.

Since then, it’s been difficult for the Hatters and after a medical at Derby County last week, Carlton Morris left Kenilworth Road for Pride Park while Thomas Kaminski has joined Charlton Athletic on a permanent deal.

Now, another crucial player for Luton is the subject of interest and the League One side must do everything they can to keep him in Bedfordshire this summer.

Rangers target Luton Town’s Thelo Aasgaard

After joining the Hatters in January from Wigan Athletic for a fee reported by the Daily Mail to be £3m, Thelo Aasgaard has been one of the very few positives in LU4.

However, in a new update from Raman Bhardwaj, Scottish giants Rangers are pursuing a deal for the attacking midfielder this summer, but a deal has not been agreed yet.

At the end of June, EFL Analysis explained that Luton are keen to keep hold of the Norway international this summer and getting a move away from Kenilworth Road may be tougher than he hopes.

However, the right price may just be enough for the Hatters to let go of the 23-year-old.

Thelo Aasgaard wants to play at the World Cup

One huge problem that the Hatters are facing with Aasgaard is his desire to play at the World Cup if Norway are able to qualify for next summer’s tournament.

His international manager wants the midfielder to play at a higher level and with Rangers playing in European competition in the new season, a move to Ibrox could give him the perfect platform to show his talents.

Aasgaard is a much better player than League One and having only left the division in the January transfer window, returning to the third tier may be a huge frustration for the ex-Wigan ace.
