Norwich City appear to be closing in on the signing of Pelle Mattsson now, but the Silkeborg midfielder is getting pretty fed up of people asking him about the move.
It’s been a busy summer for Norwich City, with the Canaries conducting some of the best business in the Championship so far.
The likes of Harry Darling, Mathias Kvistgaarden, and Jacob Wright are already in, while Papa Amadou Diallo is the latest name to arrive at Carrow Road.
It’s been known for a while that Norwich want another central midfielder, and Pelle Mattsson is thought to be their top target in that department.

Pelle Mattsson doesn’t want to talk about Norwich City move
Reports claim Norwich are close to agreeing a £2.6m deal for the Danish midfielder, who played the first half of Silkeborg’s defeat to Fredericia over the weekend.
Speaking after the game (via Bold), Mattsson was asked about the speculation over his future, and clearly wasn’t happy.
He said: “I think I’ve said what I need to say about it. It’s been filled, and that’s not where my focus is at all. I don’t want to talk about a possible goodbye. It could be the next game and the next game again, so it’s strange to talk about.
“It could end up being a goodbye, but it’s not certain. We’ll have to see what happens. We just lost a game, and then I get a question like this. I am deeply disappointed to lose 0-2 at home to Fredericia.
“Now that I’ve mentioned it and tried to be open in the media about how I feel, I almost have to be responsible for something I’ve said, that’s how it is. It’s part of the game that people write about transfers. I know the world of football, and there’s nothing to say about that.”

Pelle Mattsson would be Norwich’s final piece of the puzzle
So far this summer, Liam Manning has completely transformed the Norwich defence, bringing in new goalkeeper Vladan Kovacevic, centre-halves Harry Darling and Jakov Medic, as well as experienced full-back Jeffrey Schlupp.
He’s also replaced Borja Sainz with Diallo, and bolstered the attack with the highly-rated Kvistgaarden. Now, all that remains is getting that final midfielder through the door.
We spoke to Danish football expert Toke Theilade, who told us Mattsson loves doing the dirty work in the middle of the park. He’s exactly the kind of hard-working midfielder Manning will love in his side.
Obviously, the ongoing saga surrounding Josh Sargent needs resolving. If he leaves, Norwich may look for another striker, but if not, Mattsson may well be the final piece of the puzzle Manning needs to get the Canaries promoted in 2025/26.
