The future of Sheffield United’s Jack Robinson has been in doubt since the start of the season, with the defender entering the final year of his contract at Bramall Lane.
This brought interest from Championship rivals, with both Watford and Wrexham weighing up a move for the former Liverpool player.
Sheffield United have been experiencing defensive woes at the start of this Championship campaign under Ruben Selles and this has not been helped by the speculation around the future of Robinson.
The Spanish manager has now matched their worst start to a league campaign outside the top flight in 30 years, as they lost their opening four Championship matches, with the defence being a huge problem.
Selles has now opened up about the safety of his managerial job at Sheffield United, already admitting it is out of his control.

However, it could get worse for the Blades, as their reliable general at the back, Jack Robinson, has been subject to speculation linking him to an exit from Bramall Lane this summer.

Watford have switched targets away from Jack Robinson
While there was interest in Jack Robinson from Watford ahead of the weekend, the Hornets have seemingly made the decision to chase another player to strengthen their defence.
This may be fantastic news for Sheffield United and their fans, as they look likely to keep the former Liverpool full-back.
It has been reported by The Star that Watford are now looking to sign Formose Mendy, and that is despite all the signs pointing to a Robinson exit.

He had been left out of the squad entirely for Saturday’s defeat at Middlesbrough, and it is understood he is now turning 32 and is out of contract next summer.
There is a belief that he has held talks with Watford over a potential switch to Vicarage Road; however, this does not appear to have come to fruition.
Ruben Selles on Jack Robinson’s future
The Sheffield United manager made it clear what he thought about Jack Robinson leaving the club last month, as reported by the Star.

He made it clear that he would not be leaving unless there were replacements brought to the club; however, since those comments, Sheffield United have brought in defensive reinforcements.
He said: “As I say, no-one should go before we get anybody in. Jack, as any other player, will have teams that will want him because he’s a very experienced player in that category. You know I don’t pay much attention to those things, so as much as I understand, Jack is still our player. Right now he’s still our captain, and that’s what I take for the moment.”
