Sheffield United have secured the signing of Danny Ings, and as the Blades prepare to face Middlesbrough this weekend, the striker has sent the Teessiders a little dig.
It’s safe to say Sheffield United have made an awful start to the season, with three straight defeats in the league leaving them bottom of the Championship table.
Middlesbrough, meanwhile, have won three out of three and have shocked us all by being in second place heading into the weekend.
Now, the two sides will go head-to-head on Saturday and Danny Ings will be at the heart of the action after becoming the latest signing at Sheffield United this summer.

Danny Ings speaks as Sheffield United player for first time
Ings has signed a one-year deal with the Blades, with the option for another year if things go well. Based on what Ings has said in his first interview for United, he firmly backs himself to be a success at Bramall Lane.
He said: “I am delighted. It has been a busy few days. When I spoke to the manager and he asked me to come up and spend some time with him and the group, I just thought it was a great opportunity. To be sat here now speaking to you, and the Sheffield United fans, is just fantastic.
“As soon as I spoke to the manager, I wanted to get up here and sit down face-to-face and meet everybody here. To be sat here now, and signed, it is really exciting.
“I’ve been keeping myself fit and I’ve just been waiting for the right opportunity. I thought this was a great one for me and a chance to progress my career as well.”
Ings had been training with the Yorkshire outfit for the past week, while Nathan Redmond remains on trial at Sheffield United and could still land a permanent deal.

What happened to Danny Ings’ move to Middlesbrough?
Interestingly, Danny Ings was in line for a move to Middlesbrough previously, but that didn’t come to fruition.
Ings had hoped to stay in the Premier League, but it was Boro who pushed strongly for him earlier in the summer window.
Now, we can’t help but look into that quote about waiting for the “right opportunity” and thinking the forward just didn’t fancy the move to Middlesbrough, for whatever reason.
It remains to be seen whether he has made the right decision, but for Ings, the key thing right now will be to stay fit and hit the ground running for his new side. It’ll be fascinating to see how he fares on Saturday, if he plays against Middlesbrough.
