Cardiff City are getting ready for their first third tier campaign since 2003 and things are slowly starting to click into place.
Brian Barry-Murphy is the new Bluebirds manager and off the pitch there is even more exciting news for the South Wales outfit.
It was reported last week that Gareth Bale was interested in purchasing Plymouth Argyle as part of a US consortium, however that proved to be 50% correct and instead of the Greens it is Cardiff whom the ex-Real Madrid star is interested in.
There is £117m worth of debt at Cardiff that will be factored into the price of a sale, but Bale is keen to get a deal done quickly.
Gareth Bale confirms that he is interested in buying Cardiff City
The Bluebirds have been called the ‘worst run club’ in the EFL, but Vincent Tan’s ownership could soon be coming to an end.

Bale confirmed his desire to buy Cardiff in an interview on the red carpet ahead of the new F1 Movie premiere in London. He said (via: Sky Sports): “It’s something I’m a part of. We’ve been speaking about it trying to engage with Cardiff. But I think more news will come out about that in the future but I hope we can get something done.
“I can’t really say too much but what I can say is we are interested in getting Cardiff. Obviously it’s my home club, where I grew up, my uncle used to play for them. So, to be involved with an ownership group would be a dream come true.
“It’s a club close to my heart, it’s where I grew up and I would love to be a part of growing Cardiff and taking it to the Premier League, where it belongs. I know how amazing the Welsh fans, the Cardiff fans are and it’d be amazing to try and do stuff together.”
Gareth Bale already knows his first Bluebirds job if a takeover is successful
While Bale has Premier League ambitions, his first task at Cardiff will be to help bring stability to a club that has been on a downward trend for the last few years.

Bringing supporters back to CF11 is also vital, as attendances have been down in recent seasons, and bringing life back to the Bluebirds is crucial if they are to make their way back up the divisions.
Winning promotion back to the Championship instantly is Barry-Murphy’s main ambition this campaign and a good pre-season will help Cardiff over the course of the next 11 months. However, they must not allow the off-field situation to get in the way of their plans on the pitch.
