There comes a point in football when legendary players leave a football club, and Leicester City supporters have experienced that sad feeling.
Jamie Vardy announced he will be leaving Leicester City at the end of the 2024/25 campaign, seeing his 13-year stint at the King Power Stadium approaching the end.
The 38-year-old has enjoyed an illustrious career at Leicester, winning almost everything there is to win domestically, while scoring almost 200 goals.
Leicester fans have since reacted to Vardy’s exit message, and unsurprisingly, it brought tears to the eyes of supporters.
But during a sad period for those associated with the Foxes, it’s also a time to reminisce, with the Englishman looking back on his time at the club.

Jamie Vardy names his all-time Leicester City XI
From winning two Championship titles with Leicester to being crowned Premier League champions in 2016, Vardy has played with some incredible players since joining the club in 2012.
So, when the club tasked him to name his all-time XI of teammates he’s played with, it was unsurprising to see that 10 of his 11 selections featured in the 2016 title-winning campaign.
Here is the team he selected:
- Kasper Schmeichel
- Danny Simpson
- Robert Huth
- Wes Morgan
- Christian Fuchs
- N’Golo Kante
- Danny Drinkwater
- Youri Tielemans
- Riyad Mahrez
- Marc Albrighton
- Jamie Vardy
There were, however, some notable omissions, including current Tottenham star James Maddison, fan favourite Ricardo Pereira and legendary midfielders Andy King and Esteban Cambiasso.

What’s next for Vardy?
Leicester will need to replace Vardy this summer, and finding the correct heir to his throne could be crucial to their chances of winning promotion.
As for the future of the veteran striker, Dean Smith’s comments on Vardy from 2024 may point towards him moving to the MLS, as the former Aston Villa boss tried to sign him for Charlotte FC.
Saudi Arabian clubs have also shown interest in the striker previously, but since he has a wife and children, a move to the Middle East doesn’t look likely.
It will be interesting to see if some Championship clubs attempt to sign him. Sheffield Wednesday could be the perfect destination for Vardy, as it’s the team he grew up supporting.
However, his huge wages would be a problem for Chansiri to afford, instantly putting a spanner in the works.
Wherever he chooses to go, he will leave Leicester with the best wishes of supporters, who will feel a sense of sadness that his era of dominance is coming to an end.
