Derby County are edging closer to signing number six of the summer.
The Rams brought Patrick Agyemang to the club last week for £5.8m, but now they are closing in on a new full-back.
Derby are set to beat Wrexham to Owen Beck, with the Liverpool defender spending last season on loan with John Eustace at Blackburn Rovers.
The East Midlands outfit lack depth at left-back, and the 22-year-old will offer Eustace everything he needs in that position for the Championship 2025/26 season.

Beck made 24 appearances in the second tier last season, but he will be hoping that he can become a regular in the first team at Pride Park.

Realising his potential will be a key aim for the Wrexham-born ace, and Eustace has spoken about the role he will play as his manager at Derby in 2025/26.
He said (via: Derbyshire Live): “He’s a really exciting young player and I was very fortunate to work with him last year. I think everyone could see the growth he made playing in the Championship, and he’s a super young talented player and he’s one of the most exciting full-backs in the country for his age at the moment.
“He’s just a very good young player. There is a lot to improve, and if he comes to Derby and chooses to come to us, our job is to help develop him.
“That’s my job and the coach’s job in that, whichever player comes to the football club, no matter how old or how young they are, they’re coming into an environment where they’re going to improve, get better, and to make sure that, on a Saturday, they’re very competitive.”

John Eustace is pushing for signings before the Championship starts
After a relatively steady start to the summer, July has been excellent for Derby and they have made substantial moves in the transfer market.
They have made a £1m bid for Bristol City’s Zak Vyner, although this is likely to be rejected by the Robins, while French striker Timothe Nkada is on their radar.

Derby’s interest in Kamil Conteh has slowed, but a deal is still possible later in the window and Callum Brittain could be an option for Eustace.
Beck is an exciting acquisition, but the Rams need more than just the Liverpool youngster if they are to have success this season with the first Championship fixtures just two weeks away.
