Wrexham are interested in Leicester City goalkeeper Danny Ward, who was booed by Foxes fans during the 2024/25 Premier League campaign.
Hollywood-backed Wrexham have been busy so far in the summer transfer window after securing promotion to the Championship last season.
Wrexham made history with their successive promotion, and now find themselves just one season away from the pinnacle of English football.
As the summer transfer window goes on, the Red Dragons have been busy in the market to fill the squad with talent, and of late have been making a move to sign Blackburn Rovers captain Lewis Travis.
Additionally, Wrexham have been in talks with Leicester City over a possible deal to re-sign goalkeeper Danny Ward, despite his difficult Premier League campaign for the relegated Foxes.

Wrexham in talks with Leicester City goalkeeper Danny Ward
In terms of Wrexham’s incomings and outgoings, signatures on the dotted line have been quiet so far, but there has been a host of high-profile names linked to the Red Dragons.
Wrexham have been mooted for moves for an array of Premier League free agents, with Leeds United forward Patrick Bamford the key name among those rumours.
The transfer window is now shut as of June 10, at 7pm, and the second part of the window will open on June 16 before closing on September 1 at 7pm for Premier League and EFL clubs.
However, reports from Sky Sports have revealed that “Wrexham are in talks with Leicester over a possible deal for goalkeeper Danny Ward. Discussions are thought to be in the early stages.”
If Wrexham re-sign Ward, head coach Phil Parkinson will be hoping the Welsh international can put his ill-fated Foxes campaign behind him.
Under Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Leicester suffered relegation from the Premier League this season, and Ward was booed by the home King Power crowd after making costly errors in a 3-0 defeat against Wolves in late December.
Via LeicestershireLive, the Foxes boss admitted that seeing the Leicester fans sarcastically cheer Ward was “hard to see”.
Van Nistelrooy said: “We all understand disappointment from the crowd but it shouldn’t go to one player.
“Booing and being disappointed with a result, when it goes to one person, that is hard to see for me.
“I think he kept his composure very well over the course of the game. It’s not easy when something happens like that, when you catch a ball and people start cheering, and boo you, when it gets personal like that. I think he handled it very well.
“It must have been hard. We all felt that. Hopefully, he can turn things around quickly.”
Unfortunately, Ward, and Leicester, would not turn things around as Van Nistelrooy hoped.

Danny Ward and Leicester’s 24/25 season ended in disaster
Ward’s horror show against Wolves would be his final appearance for the Foxes during their Premier League relegation campaign.
Across his two top flight games, when deputising between the sticks, Ward conceded six goals in just 135 minutes of football and made only four saves.

| Minutes – 135 |

Parkinson has revealed that Wrexham’s transfer policy after promotion is to “attract a better calibre of players” than previously, and despite Ward’s poor showing this season, his experience and international pedigree will be a welcome addition to the Red Dragons’ squad.
Since his debut in 2016, Ward has been capped 44 times for the Welsh national side, and has 45 Championship appearances to his name.
