Three signings Hull City must make before transfer deadline day including a Premier League winner

Hull City have had a tough summer transfer window, and there is an understanding that they still need to add to their squad to help them reach their season aim.

The Tigers have seen their transfer ban reduced to two windows, resulting in this difficulty in signing players this summer, and they have recently lost out on signing a Manchester United youngster due to this embargo.

While they did recently add Brandon Williams to their squad, which is a great addition due to his experience in the Premier League with Manchester United.

This positive is great for the club and their squad; however, with Hull expected to face further difficulties in their business similar to the problems caused with signing a Champions League quality player, expect the Tigers to look at the loan market and those out of contract.

EFL Analysis has assessed what the club are looking for and have three answers that could plug the holes in the Hull squad.

Fabio Borini

The former Premier League champion with Chelsea would be a versatile attacking option for Hull City to utilise.

Borini has lived in the northeast of England previously, having played with Sunderland, and is currently training with the PFA, seemingly looking for a return to English football after a spell in his native Italy.

He can be deployed across the forward line and be used as a winger who is a tireless worker, so this is exactly the type of player Hull need to add to their squad, as they are set to be in for a long campaign.

Kieran Morrison

It is clear that Hull were looking to add some youthful energy to their squad when they chased the signing of Toby Collyer, so Kieran Morrison is an alternative to that.

The Northern Ireland youth international has been part of the youth set-up in both Manchester United and Liverpool, being highly thought of as an attacking option at the latter currently.

Klopp was a great admirer of the 18-year-old while he was in charge of Liverpool, and the Northern Irish starlet may see this season as a chance to get first-team football regularly; being a similar creative player to Collyer, it would make sense for Hull to bring him in.

Benik Afobe

Hull City are still in need of strengthening their striker options, despite acquiring Oli McBurnie, a striker who Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson is a huge fan of.

However, the Tigers need to bring in another option to cover McBurnie; this should see them take a chance on Benik Afobe, who has demonstrated that he has the talent to play in the Championship.

Afobe has spent the last three seasons in the Middle East, but he is currently a free agent, and at the age of 32, he should still be able to do a job for any Championship team, including Hull City.
